Richard Huff, with a look of excitement upon his face stood in the centre of the ring, holding a microphone in his hand. The crowd applaud and cheer as he clears his throat and holds the microphone up.
Richard Huff: Ladies and gentlemen... it is now time for the main event!
The crowd erupt with cheers, but those cheers turn quickly into boos and sounds of hatred as “Diary of Jane” emanates from the speakers of the entrance stage.
Almanti: It's finally going to happen!
Pilgrim: After so much waiting, so many angry words thrown about and so much has been done to both of these superstars... we finally have it!
Richard Huff: Introducing first, from Norwich, England, weighing in at two hundred and fifty five pounds... he is the number one contender... Kailus Holmes!
Kailus cockily walks out to the top of the entrance ramp, he smirks as the fans shout cuss words and profanities at him. He gives his trademark cocky smile and thrusts his hands up, symbolising the “Arms of Greatness”. This is perfect timing for a large plume of red pyro to explode from him.
Pilgrim: Holy crap!
Almanti: We have pyro! We actually have pyro!
Pilgrim: Wow!
As the fire dies down, so does Kailus' arms. He turns to the back and awaits for Isaac Marshall and Bailey Tinsley to walk out with him. The crowd make their feelings ever more known that they do not approve.
Almanti: And here come the hired help!
Pilgrim: Isaac Marshall and Bailey Tinsley, part of Kailus' entourage. Now Flying Diamond Cutter Man has to wonder will they get involved, and if they do? What can he do to stop it from losing his championship belt?
The three walk slowly and confidently down the ramp, Kailus sneering at the fans, he motions across his waist, telling them that the title will be his. He eventually gets into the ring, rolling under the bottom rope. As he gets up he pulls his hood back and thrusts his arms out, shouting to the crowd, who throw more heat at the Voice of Reason.
Almanti: Kailus Holmes, whether you love him or hate him, has worked exceptionally hard to make it to this point. He defeated two of the most established superstars in POW today to become the number one contender.
Pilgrim: And since then he's been on a mission to derail Flying Diamond Cutter Man from his throne.
Almanti: Well, this is the best chance to do so.
“Diary of Jane” calms down and the fans are beginning to get restless, desperate to see Flying Diamond Cutter Man make his way to the ring. Kailus pulls his top off and takes this time to perform a couple of stretches.
“Back in the Saddle” kicks in and the audience erupts, every single person who bought a ticket in the Mark Price Arena is on their feet, applauding, screaming or holding signs and sure enough, their waiting is over. Smoke bellows from underneath the stage, covering the entrance way in a thick fog. Suddenly, FDCM storms out from the fog, bringing a louder reaction. He holds his hands up in the diamond hand gesture before bringing them down, and more pyro pops from above FDCM.
Almanti: MORE PYRO!
Pilgrim: POW going all out for this one!
Richard Huff: And his opponent, weighing in at two hundred and two hundred and thirty pounds... he is Power on Wrestling's Heavyweight Champion of the World... Flying... Diamond... Cutter Man!
FDCM pulls the World title belt from his waist and holds it up, pointing to Holmes, who is staring in a euphoric trance. The champion storms down the ramp, high fiving and slapping the hands of the POW fans before finally rolling into the ring. As he gets up, Holmes steps forward and the two superstars stand toe to toe.
Pilgrim: The confrontation!
Holmes and FDCM continue to stare each other down at a finger tips distance away from the others face. Holmes cockily smiles as FDCM refuses to back down. The referee manages to pull them apart as the music dies down. As the music fades, its replaced by chants for their champion.
Crowd: CUTTER MAN! CUTTER MAN! CUTTER MAN! CUTTER MAN!
FDCM looks around the arena as the fans show their respect. Holmes does the same, not impressed that they are not chanting his name.
Almanti: We have such a special event here, in one corner you have the World Champion, a man who defeated the former owner of the POW and unified two former World titles together. A man who has overcome the odds and has quickly become the biggest superstar in POW.
Almanti: On the other side, you have Kailus Holmes. A man who has built a legacy out of ending people's careers. A man that has taken on all comers and has defeated them all too. A man that stops at nothing until he is the World Champion.
Triple Main Event - Final Match
POW World Heavyweight Championship Match
Flying Diamond Cutter Man(c) vs. Kailus Holmes
The bell rings and the contest is underway. FDCM shakes his hands in preparation as Holmes continues to stare at his opponent. They edge in closer, Holmes crouched a little, his hands twitching, wanting to lock up immediately. FDCM stands up straight, he takes a big breath and edges in closer. As they edge closer to each other, Holmes backs away, straightening his posture.
Pilgrim: Holmes showing a little cowardice?
Almanti: No, Pilgrim! Not cowardice, but he's thinking strategy. Think about it, this is the main event. It's for the World title, there are no chances for mistakes. You have to get the job done here. Every moment you spend on the offense is getting you closer to the win, and both these guys know it.
Pilgrim: The title cannot change hands on a disqualification, or a count-out, so Cutter has the advantage here.
Almanti: But Holmes had made up for that by bringing his Enforcer to the ring with him, and Cutter knows that Marshall could very well be the deciding factor in this match. Holmes only has to worry about Cutter Man. Cutter... he has to worry about three people!
Holmes resumes his crouched position and once again edges in closer. FDCM stands his ground and raises his hands slightly, ready for the grapple. And here it comes! The two lock up. Holmes pushes forward, forcing FDCM into the corner. The referee waits a second before telling Holmes to break the hold, which he doesn't and the five count begins. It reaches three before Holmes eventually relinquishes the hold. He takes a few paces back as FDCM stares at Holmes, unhappy that it hasn't gone his way yet.
Holmes licks his lips and won't let his sights off FDCM for a second. FDCM refocuses himself and begins to move away from the turnbuckle, the two now circling the ring once again. They begin the advancement to lock up once again, but Holmes changes the game plan and whips around to the back of the champion, trying to hurl him up for a German Suplex, but FDCM quickly throws his weight forward, forcing Holmes to change the direction of the attack. FDCM lands on his knees and tries to scramble out of the hold but Holmes has his hands clasped tightly together. FDCM manages to roll his body around and break the hold, attemtping to go for Holmes' leg but Holmes relentless and locks in again. FDCM, knowing he can't break away pulls himself quickly to the ropes and grabs the bottom one, effectively breaking the hold.
Almanti: Holmes very impressive in the early goings of this fight.
Pilgrim: That's what he has to do. He needs to keep FDCM off his feet. FDCM's main attack is indeed the Diamond Cutter, so he needs to keep Cutter grounded so he cannot use that move.
Almanti: Holmes, a master of submission holds and grapples, studied with the best of them, knows just what gameplan to go for, but he's never had to face someone as diverse and as strange as Flying Diamond Cutter Man.
Holmes backs away as the referee demands him to leave FDCM alone. FDCM recollects his thoughts and pulls himself back to a vertical base using the ropes as a sort of climbing frame. The champion shakes his head in frustration, knowing that Holmes can out grapple him. The long pause and stand off once again, Holmes checking his knee pads as FDCM shakes his hands. One more time they lock up, and FDCM finally gets a little of an advantage and locks Holmes head. He wrenches it before Holmes pushes him onto the ropes, using them as a catapault to release the hold, but FDCM tightens his grip, using the force of motion, he slides to his knees, knocking Holmes down with him, keeping the headlock in check.
Almanti: Cutter has the advantage now.
Pilgrim: If you can control the head then you can control the body, Cutter knows this and his entire gameplan needs to focus on Holmes' head, preparing him for that Diamond Cutter.
The two return to their feet, FDCM still has the headlock applied. Again, Holmes pushes, but this time he forces FDCM into the corner where FDCM is forced to break the hold. The referee jumps in, asking FDCM to let go. Finally, FDCM does and Holmes backs away quickly, checking to see if his head is okay, pointing to his cranium.
Almanti: And Holmes telling Cutter that he is smarter than him.
Pilgrim: Holmes used the rope break to get out of the hold and keep his head in check.
For the fourth time, they circle each other, edging in closer and preparing to grapple once again. Holmes charges, going for FDCM's legs but FDCM turns his body, trying to keep Holmes away from his Sharpshooter submission. Holmes manages to trip FDCM up but it looked like FDCM just lost his balance so a bit of luck there for the challenger. FDCM doesn't give Holmes a chance to get the hold locked in though and pulls himself back, grabbing the bottom rope once again, kicking wildly at Holmes to let go, which he is forced to do anyway.
Almanti: He had that scouted.
Holmes wants to continue and closes in but the referee tells him to back up. FDCM gets back up after acknowledging the referee's decision. The crowd start to rally behind FDCM once again.
Crowd: f**k HIM UP, CUTTER, f**k HIM UP! f**k HIM UP, CUTTER, f**k HIM UP! f**k HIM UP, CUTTER, f**k HIM UP! f**k HIM UP, CUTTER, f**k HIM UP!
Almanti: The crowd with some very choice words, telling Cutter to take out Holmes.
Holmes sneers and flips the crowd off, sporting them to boo him wildly. He then turns and demands FDCM get involved and try and beat him. FDCM stares at a very flustered Holmes, wiping his face and checking for blood or any kind of damage. None, which is a good sign. Holmes doesn't want to take time and furiously storms in for the grapple. He locks in a headlock of his own, where FDCM, remembering what happened when he locked in the hold, throws Holmes to the ropes, releasing him from the hold, but as Holmes comes back, he punts FDCM to the mat with a stiff shoulder barge. He takes a second to smile cockily at the fans, confident that he's in control before charging to the ropes, hoping to land an elbow, but FDCM rolls his body so Holmes has to jump over him. Coming off the rebound, FDCM gets to his feet and catches Holmes, throwing him to the mat with a side arm throw.
Pilgrim: And finally, Flying Diamond Cutter Man gets some offense!
Holmes rolls to his feet and charges again, but FDCM grabs him and throws him to the mat once more, this time keeping a hold of the arm and wrenching it back. To add further insult to injury, FDCM places his knee above Holmes' head and pulls back harder, now having a more sturied base to do so. Holmes bides his time, thinking about how to counter, suddenly snapping into life, moving his head out from under the knee, the momentum allowing him to get to his knees.
Almanti: Now the two are struggling for supremacy. It has to be said that Holmes had the advantage in the early part of this matchup, but now Cutter has turned things around and kept the pace slowed down so far.
Pilgrim: He needs to wear Holmes down slowly for now. Both men know exactly what their styles are. They've been team-mates for the better part of two months. They've both had a chance to get to know the other. They know their strengths and their weaknesses, and FDCM has done a great job in putting that knee of Holmes' head.
Almanti: And Holmes did the smart thing and quickly escaped.
Holmes is up to his knees now. FDCM is pushing hard, trying to get Holmes back to a horizontal base, but Holmes is fighting just as hard to prevent that from happening. Both men are on their feet, and the dirty tactics begin to come into play. Holmes grabs FDCM's hair and yanks him back, throwing FDCM to the mat. The referee does not approve and tells Holmes not to do it again. Holmes ignores the official and locks in an armlock of his own.
Pilgrim: What a dirty underhanded move that was!
Almanti: Got the job done though, and now Holmes is back in control.
Holmes repays the favour and rests his knee on FDCM's face, smiling as FDCM is stuck for the time being. The referee asks if FDCM wants to stop, which he says no, but as he does, Holmes changes the hold, twisting the arm to the back in a hammer lock. FDCM uses his left hand to land a jab to Holmes' face, it looks like FDCM is going to break free but Holmes leaps his knee up, driving it into FDCM's arm.
Almanti: What a move!
Pilgrim: That is very dangerous. It could dislocate FDCM's shoulder and potentially put him out of action.
Almanti: Somehow, I don't think thats on the top of Kailus Holmes' priorities right now.
FDCM quickly stops the pace of the ever aggressive Holmes and rolls to the outside, pacing back and fourth as he tends to his injured shoulder. Holmes stayed within the ring, proud that he had FDCM at a disadvantage. The referee started the count.
1.....
2.....
Almanti: Cutter needs to get back into the fight.
Pilgrim: This is just what he needs at the moment, a chance to recouperate. A chance to heal his shoulder for a few moments before the match continued.
3....
His impatience shows and Holmes attempts to go to the outside but the referee stops him in his tracks, stopping the count as well, which inadvertently bought FDCM some more time. The champion jumped up onto the apron as Holmes remained stationary on the otherside of the ring.
Almanti: And look how determined Holmes is to get inside Cutter's head!
Holmes is taunting FDCM, telling him to bring it. FDCM leans back through the ropes to get into the ring. He doesn't seem to impressed. Holmes goes for FDCM, trying to sucker him into another grapple but in actuality tries a clothesline. FDCM ducks the attack, having it well scouted and hits a knife edge chop on the bare chest of the challenger. Holmes staggers back as the crowd let off the traditional “woo” that was made famous by the legendary Ric Flair. Holmes rests himself on the turnbuckle as FDCM hits another chop, bringing the blood up to the skin and showing the redness. Holmes, not wanting to par-take of anymore chops, drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring.
Pilgrim: And it seems now that the tables have most certainly turned in favour of the champion!
Almanti: This is what it's all about! This is for the championship. Flying Diamond Cutter Man has managed to turn the hard start into his favour and the more time Holmes spends on the outside, the more time that Cutter can think about what to do next, and for that shoulder to heal.
Pilgrim: But at the same time it disrupts the plan. Stops the rythym and makes it harder to get back into one.
Almanti: I don't know about that, Pilgrim. Look at how Cutter turned his disadvantage. He's now in the ring with Holmes on the outside. It could easily got either way at the moment.
Like a snake, Holmes slowly slithers back into the ring. The two slowly edging closer again. They pull their hands out and jerk them back quickly, not wanting to hook up just yet. Holmes goes for it, taking FDCM down with a single leg takedown but FDCM again quickly rolls out of the ring but as Holmes argues with the referee about following the champion, FDCM slides straight back in, but Holmes has enough waiting and pounces, grappling with FDCM and using his momentum to push FDCM into the turnbuckle. He quickly grabs the leg and tries to pull him into the middle of the ring, trying to keep FDCM grounded but FDCM keeps a hold of the top rope. Holmes finally pulls him back and trips him up, trying to lock in the Sharpshooter again but FDCM kicks him off. Holmes tries again, keeping the pressure going but again FDCM kicks him off. Holmes changes the gameplan, keeping a hold of the leg he manages to turn a wild kicking champion into a single leg crab.
Almanti: A submission is locked in.
Pilgrim: But Cutter gets to the ropes, so it's wasn't long enough to do any kind of damage.
The referee begins the count. He eventually gets to three before Holmes let's go. He knows that he doesn't want to jeaporise this chance. Holmes smirks as the referee tells him to let go quicker. FDCM checks quickly to see if his knee is okay, which, luckily for him, it is. Holmes continues with the arguing.
Referee: You want to compete, you follow the rules!
Kailus Holmes: What? What was I doing wrong? What?
Eventually, Holmes and the referee stop arguing and he marches over to FDCM. Holmes tries a punch, but FDCM blocks it, hitting one of his own. He catches Holmes as he is unbalanced from the punch and throws him into the turnbuckle. Antoher knife edge chop from the champion!
Pilgrim: What a shot by Cutter Man!
Almanti: That was so bad I could feel it from here!
He hits another, Holmes' chest is red raw now. FDCM looks at the crowd before grabbing Holmes' arm. He goes for an irish whip, Holmes reverses it. FDCM hits the turnbuckle on the opposite side. Holmes charges but is met with a boot to the face. FDCM climbs up to the second turnbuckle, Holmes checks his jaw as the champion leaps over Holmes, grabbing his tights and rolling him up in a modified sunset flip.
Pilgrim: Cutter could have it here!
Holmes manages to continue rolling out of the pin, grabbing FDCM's legs and finally looking like he was going to lock in the Sharpshooter! He turned the legs but FDCM again pulled him close and hammered him with a right handed punch, forcing Holmes back. FDCM doesn't leave it there, he gets back to his feet and races to Holmes, knocking him over the top rope and to the outside, much to the crowd delight.
1.....
2.....
Holmes is curled up in a ball clutching his head. FDCM keeps his distance, smiling at the crowd and giving them something to photograph. As he stops with the posing, he goes towards the edge of the ropes but again the referee gets involved, pushing him back. FDCM nods his head and allows the referee to continue.
4....
5....
6...
Getting bored, FDCM rolls out of the ring where the referee cannot see him. Holmes is now starting to get back up. FDCM bides his time and awaits for Holmes to be on his feet properly, attacking with a knife edge chop. The pain of the slap sends Holmes barreling backwards into the announcers table. He rolls his body off the side, retaining his balance before stopping to use the table as a lean.
1.....
The referee yells at the two to get back in the ring. FDCM looks up, staring blankly at the referee before slapping Holmes' chest again. The agony of the chest attack is showing as Holmes continues to flop backwards, now dropping against the apron.
3.....
As FDCM goes towards the injured challenger, Holmes kicks FDCM in the gut, and tries a surprise FRO, hoisting him onto his shoulders, the crowd look in horror, hoping that it doesn't happen. FDCM fights back, wriggling his legs and hitting Holmes in the head with elbow shots. He escapes! Whilst Holmes is temporarily unbalanced, he grabs Holmes' head, trying to slam him into the metal turnbuckle pole, but Holmes catches the pole with his hands, stopping the momentum. He quickly pushes FDCM off him with an elbow to his face.
Almanti: This has turned into such an intense contest!
6.....
FDCM checks his face as Holmes charges, trying for a clothesline, but FDCM ducks it again, and when Holmes turns around... ANOTHER knife edge chop! He then goes for a forearm shot but Holmes ducks that, using FDCM's momentum against him he grabs FDCM as he spins around, hooking the arms he thrusts his weight up, dropping FDCM onto the announcers table with a German suplex.
Pilgrim: OH MY GOD!!!
Almanti: Kailus Holmes could have broken Cutter's damn neck!
Out cold, FDCM rolls off the table and to the feet of the announcers. Holmes rolls back into the ring, lying on his back as the referee, stopping the count to check on the challenger.
Pilgrim: I cannot believe he just did that!
Almanti: This is what the POW Championship means to him! This is what the match is all about! Taking it to the extreme!
Pilgrim: We should get somebody out here, Cutter looks hurt in a bad way.
FDCM is lying where he was before, holding his neck. The referee restarts the count, forgetting what number he was at after seeing the terrifying potential career ending move.
1.....
2....
FDCM is not moving from his spot.
3.....
4.....
The TV producers are now showing a liver version of the move that caused FDCM to be on the outside. Holmes has enough of waiting and want to continue fighting but the referee pushes him back, pointing directly into his face, telling him that he's not to go out there. Holmes points back, telling the referee to make FDCM come back into the ring. The referee turns his back and continues the count.
5....
Holmes repeats what FDCM did eariler and ducks out of the ring elsewhere. He marches over to FDCM, the referee now noticing that Holmes is out of the ring. He yells at Holmes to take it back to the ring, once again having to restart the count.
1....
Holmes is over FDCM, grabbing him by the hair and pulling him up to his feet. He throws FDCM's limp body into the ring, finally taking the action back to where the fans can clearly see. Holmes slides in behind FDCM and goes for the pin. The referee slide in to make the count.
1...
2...
FDCM kicks out, but his neck is still in tremendous pain.
Almanti: And somehow, miraculously, Cutter Man kicks out!
Pilgrim: And Holmes does not look happy about that!
FDCM rolls away from Holmes, but the challenger doesn't let him get far, grabbing him by the hair once again and forcing him back. Continuing on the assault, Holmes drives his right knee into FDCM's face, sending the champion flying back onto the mat.
Almanti: Holmes is like a shark in the water now, he knows that Cutter's hurt and he's going to do everything in his power to exploit that.
Pilgrim: We're seeing a completely different side to Kailus Holmes tonight, a more ruthless, sadistic and focused wrestler than we've ever seen in the POW.
Almanti: This is potentially Holmes' thirtieth championship. He wants this one more than ever and he wants to prove that he's the dominant superstar.
Holmes grabs FDCM's hair once again, pulling him to his feet. He hooks the head and turns both of them around, then dropping to the mat, slamming FDCM's neck down with a neckbreaker. The impact sent FDCM into a fit of agony as he clutched his head and flapped his legs around. Holmes goes for the cover.
1...
2....
FDCM again kicks out. Holmes tries another pin.
1...
2...
FDCM pushes him off but Holmes won't except that FDCM won't go down. He goes for another cover.
1...
2...
Kick out. Kailus again hooks the leg, this time leaning all his upper body weight onto FDCM.
1...
2...
FDCM will not go down, kicking out one again. Holmes shouts at the referee to count faster as FDCM tries to slide out of the ring, but Holmes won't let him, grabbing the champion by the hair, pulling him up to the top rope, utilising it as a chokeline. The referee pushes Holmes off, claiming that it's an illegal move. Holmes shakes his head, cockily rolling his eyes as he passes the referee. FDCM has now rested himself by the turnbuckles. Holmes sticks his boot in FDCM's face and pushes down, applying illegal pressure to the champion.
Almanti: It seems as if Holmes has turned FDCM's gameplan against him.
Pilgrim: Never count out Flying Diamond Cutter Man, Tony.
Almanti: And never say Never, Alex.
Richard Huff: Ladies and gentlemen... it is now time for the main event!
The crowd erupt with cheers, but those cheers turn quickly into boos and sounds of hatred as “Diary of Jane” emanates from the speakers of the entrance stage.
