:: Our scene opens in a corridor. Greg Kilgreen is stood in front of a camera with a microphone. He is looking into camera. He speaks.
Greg Kilgreen: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am Greg Kilgreen and I am standing outside of the locker room of the man who will compete in one of the two triangle matches this Thursday night. As of yet we have heard very little from Big Ci in regards to anything pertaining to his POW career and nothing about his upcoming match with “The Undeniable Man” Lance Erickson and the man known as Macros.
This past week on our weekly “Road to…” show saw Lance & Macros team up and earn a win against Dan Real and “The Predator” Dave Hunter, whereas Big Ci didn’t compete this past week, but made an appearance and the save for “The Predator”, helping him counter a post match attack from, UWC veteran, Jason Dread, who we learned recently signed a contract to compete for Power On Wrestling. I am going to try and get a word with Big Ci regarding his recent absence, his sudden friendship with “The Predator” and, most importantly, his upcoming match with Macros & Lance Erickson.
Now I have been told that Big Ci is here in the arena tonight. For what reason? I do not know but I will try to find that out
:: He knocks on the door nearest to him which we see, upon closer inspection, has “Big Ci” on the front. We hear a faint, muffled, “Come in” from behind the door and Kilgreen opens the door. The camera follows him in and, upon entry, we see Big Ci, dressed in a dress shirt and suit trousers, sat on a coach, in between a gentleman in a suit who has a briefcase open in front of him, and POW senior referee, Benny Lawson, who is wearing a “First Rights” T-shirt and casual pants. Big Ci is in the process of signing a piece of paper. Stood in the corner is POW head trainer James Gagne, who is also in a “First Rights” t-shirt and is wearing a pair of purple, Latex gloves. He has a towel over his shoulder. Big Ci speaks.
Big Ci: (To Kilgreen and the camera crew) Oh hey guys. Give me a second.
:: He takes the lid off of a fountain pen handed to him by the gentleman with the briefcase. He signs his name on the piece of paper. Benny Lawson speaks.
Benny Lawson: So you understand the risks. James has checked you out and he’s told you what he thinks. Are you sure you want to do this?
Big Ci: Yeah Ben, I’m sure.
Benny Lawson: And you understand that you signing this means that POW is not, in anyway, responsible for any injury caused or worsened by you competing in this match.
Big Ci: Yeah, I understand.
Benny Lawson: And you understand that you won’t be entitled to any form of monetary compensation other than that specified in your contract if you do get injured in this match.
Big Ci: Yes Benny, I get it. Now will you let me sign the sodding thing?
Benny Lawson: Alright, alright as long as you’re sure.
:: Ci finishes signing the papers in front of him. The man in the suit checks the signature and Benny Lawson does the same, before signing them himself. He then hands the papers back to the man in the suit and he checks the second signature before putting the papers in the briefcase. All three men on the sofa stand up as Gagne takes of his gloves and walks towards the sofa. The men exchange handshakes and then Lawson, Gagne and the man in the suit leave the room walking past the camera crew. The camera crew enter the room fully as Big Ci shakes Kilgreen's hand and offers him a seat. Both men sit down as Kilgreen speaks to Ci.
Kilgreen: Good evening Ci. I just wanted to get a few words regarding a number of subjects. Firstly, could you tell us why you were with those three gentlemen a moment ago?
Big Ci: Well, I think I can answer two questions here. I trust you are also wondering why I have not been around lately.
Kilgreen: That was on the list of questions, yes.
Big Ci: Well you see. I’m injured. Not seriously but injured. You see about two weeks ago, I was working in England, and I was put in the ankle lock by this guy. It was pretty basic to escape from, I just rolled through. But, you see, as I rolled through and the guy went flying he pulled my ankle. I felt a bit of a twinge but I thought nothing of it. Then last week I saw what was going on with Dave Hunter and Jason Dread. I wasn’t booked but I came to the show as a fan. So anyway, I saw what was happening and I wasn’t going to just stand by and watch a friend of mine get jumped after he’s just tried his damned hardest to win a match. So I set of running and as I entered the ring I felt this twinge in my ankle again, only this time it was much worse. The adrenaline was going so I fought through it. But then after Dread bailed and I calmed down I felt it again.
I decided I’d better go and see my Doctor and it turned out the two incidents were related. I’d pulled my Achilles tendon in England, and then when I set of running to help Dave out, because I wasn’t warmed up I pulled it even more. The initial thing in England would have been fine if I’d have taken it easy. That’s why I wasn’t booked. Oh that reminds me I’ll get to address Mr. Erickson about whether or not I should be in the triangle match in a bit. I told Tito… sorry, Mr Capaci, I keep forgetting we’re not in the UWC locker room, and he gave me the week off because he didn’t want to risk me not making the DVD taping.
Kilgreen: But that doesn’t really explain why we haven’t heard from you recently… Or why the three gentlemen were here before.
Big Ci: I’m getting there… hang fire. The reason I haven’t been around is because of all these rumours flying about. As you may know, I have been working a little behind the scenes magic trying to put together a faction here. Now I have been very quiet about it. The only people I have told are the boss and one guy I want in it. Now I know I can trust, both, Mr Capaci and the guy… oh hell I may as well tell you. It’s Dave. Yeah, I’ve told Dave and Mr. Capaci and I know that the two of them wouldn’t breathe a word. The only other guy who knows is my other boss, Bobby McManus and I haven’t spoken to him in a while. So I haven’t a clue who found out or who he told but at the end of the day it’s out somehow. Then I see that there’s a rumour doing the rounds about Dave no showing the last “Road to…” show. So if people were to hear that I was injured, even slightly, and then it could start up that I was gonna no show or something. Now after all the trouble that I had getting on some kind of good footing in UWL only for it to close, I hardly want to go getting a reputation for trying to cry off as soon as I get into a match that might test me somewhat or get a slight injury. So I decided to go away for a while. I have been in contact with Dave Hunter who has been passing on information to the boss, and I have spoken to Mr Capaci myself. He knows why I haven’t been around and he gave me the go ahead to stay away for a while. I went to see my doctor again who warned me that I could end up tearing my Achilles tendon if I over did it. He said that competing in a triangle match would be considered overdoing it. And that is why I was “in conference” with the three gentlemen when you arrived. You, of course, know James and Benny. The third guy was from the law firm that POW uses. The piece of paper was a release form. You see, the Doctor advised management that I was in a very “at risk” situation, shall we say. He advised Mr Capaci that I could do myself a mischief if I were to compete. He told me that he couldn’t risk me competing in case I sued the company if I got hurt. He told me that he didn’t think I would but his hands were tied by sponsors and advertisers and shareholders and things and he had to listen to them. But I told him that, if it would smooth things over with the right people, I would sign a waiver. If memory serves he did a similar thing in UWL a few months ago.
So, anyway, he cleared it with who he needed to and he gave me the go ahead to do what was needed. James checked me over one last time. He stretched me a bit and put me in a few light holds to see how the leg held up. Most of it was ok but he put me in a … Well I won’t say what he put me in. You don’t know who might be listening. Let’s just say, I wasn’t too slow in slapping the carpet. Anyway he said he was a little worried but that I might improve before the match.
Anyway, I signed the release, as you saw. So that means that I am good to go for the match at “First Rights”. I am looking forward to what will be a terrific match on a card full of terrific matches. I am taking particular interest in the Hunter/Dread match. That should be good. Also, of course the Valor Title match is of particular interest as I could very well be facing the winner, if everything goes to plan.
Kilgreen: Well that explains your absence. You mention you were in contact with Dave Hunter. Historically you two are not exactly the best of friends, yet in recent weeks it has been mentioned that you consider each other almost brothers. What is with the sudden turn around?
Big Ci: I know what you mean. I suppose it is somewhat peculiar when you think that, not so long ago, we were in a feud with each other. However, remember when we wrestled in the UWC. For a few weeks leading up to the match we traded barbs back and to. He said I wasn’t extreme and I called him gay and stuff. But then in the match I proved to him that I could be extreme with the best of them. And he showed me that he was as great as he said he was. That’s when the respect started between the two of us and it has grown. When he got injured after losing the TV title to Mike McCain I called him and checked up on him. When he was on his way back I helped him rehab. Then it turned out that we had a similar history. Not many people know this but it was mentioned on the website in the “Road to…” recap. Whilst I call Charlotte, North Carolina home and I am an American citizen I was born and spent most of my life in the UK. That of course explains my love of tea and my accent as well as my sense of humour. As it turns out, Dave and I went to the same school although we were in different years.
So we have a little history there. But what really makes me respect Dave is that he doesn’t care whether the fans love him or hate him, he doesn’t need the attention or the reassurance, I have always needed to know that people liked me, he doesn’t need that. And I think that he respects me because I will do the best I can to prove myself to myself. I have a drive to succeed much like he does. I don’t agree with some of the things that he does or says but that’s his business. I have his back and he has mine. That’s how we work.
Kilgreen: OK Ci so we have an understanding regarding you and Dave. As I say, you mention you have been in contact with him over the past week and a bit. I trust that he has mentioned some of the comments that your opponents have been making in your absence. You mentioned earlier about something which Lance Erickson said earlier on this week. Your thoughts on this and other comments made.
Big Ci: Yeah Dave has been filling me in and I heard, first and foremost, the comment about me not being worthy enough to be in the match. Well Lance, first off you can’t have a triangle match with out three people, so that explains my inclusion. After all, we all know that a triangle with two points is in fact called a straight line. Ok? Good. And as for me not being worthy like I said, I was just lying low to keep the rumours off my back. He was nice enough to say that I had a bit of skill though so I thank him for that. I’m still intent on turning him into a pretzel mind; I’ll just try and do it a little more gently.
Dave also said that he saw him putting a bet on at the casino. He spoke to the bookie after and he said that he put a grand on himself to win or something. That worries me somewhat though. He has a lot more than a title shot riding on this and I know as well as anyone that desperate men do desperate things…
:: Big Ci’s cell rings.
Sorry gents… Oh it’s Dave, give me a second.
:: He answers the phone.
Yes mate
…
No nothing much. I’m just in the middle of an interview
…
No it’s alright I’m sure Greg doesn’t mind
…
I’m not sure. I’ll ask. (To Kilgreen) is this going on the DVD?
Kilgreen: Yes. I think it’s a bonus feature.
Big Ci: He says that it’s a bonus feature
…
So what’s up?
…
yeah alright I’ll head down in about an hour or so
…
Gold’s yeah?
...
On 4th?
…
Hey?
…
Tag Title?
…
Erm well it depends on how things pan out. Have you spoken to Tito…? Sorry, Mr Capaci
…
Right. Erm sounds good yeah. I’ll talk to you more when I get to the gym. Alright mate… Oh. Did you get that tape I sent of Dread Matches?
…
Yeah I got it from Rob down in UWC archives. He was a little reluctant at first but then I got my old mate Benjamin Franklin to persuade him. No problem pal. See you in a bit yeah.
(To Kilgreen) Sorry about that. He needed to talk about something. Where were we?
Kilgreen: We were discussing what your opponents have been saying as of late.
Big Ci: Oh yeah, that’s right. Yeah Erickson has surprised me. I thought that after the thing about me not being in the match I thought he was going to shoot his mouth of but he impressed me when he said I seemed like a stand up kind of guy. I don’t know if he was being funny considering I was a stand up comedian but I think he meant it. It’s weird. I like this guy and if we weren’t wrestling each other then I wouldn’t mind trying to coerce him into my faction thing. But erm that’s a different interview.
Kilgreen: Well actually that was on the list as well. I’ll come back to it if I may?
Big Ci: Yeah sure.
Kilgreen: You mentioned there that you like Lance. Does it shock you then that he was accused of rape recently
Big Ci: None of my business. Next question.
Kilgreen: … Oh… Fair enough. You, of course, are not just wrestling Lance. You will also be in the ring with Macros. You and Macros have a certain degree of history. You have been in the ring, once as opponents, and once as tag team partners. What are your thoughts on Macros’ comments?
Big Ci: Well strictly speaking they aren’t his comments are they? No, they are the comments of his… business manager. Which comments in particular?
Kilgreen: Well let’s start with his assessment of your UWL career. He mentioned something about you “Jobbing to the UWL jobbers”. Your thought?
Big Ci: Yeah… We all know that I found it quite hard to get anywhere in the UWL to start with. But, to be fair, anything can happen in that ring. How else do you explain David Arquette winning the Worlds Title in WCW, or the Brooklyn Brawler and Kaientai beating Triple H? So as far as jobbing to jobbers goes. No one should ever consider anyone else anything but a top quality athlete. For them to do otherwise proves that they are either extremely stupid, extremely arrogant or both. As for Macros beating me for the South-Eastern title… If I remember correctly, and I think I do, it was in fact, Victor Bloodmoon who knocked my ass over the top rope. And as far as jobbing and Riley goes the only job Riley needs to worry about I the nose job he’ll need when I’m done with him if he keeps running his mouth.
Kilgreen: How about Riley’s comments regarding your friend Dave?
Big Ci: Yeah I would have laughed at that one had it not pissed me off so much. To say that Dave is way below his league is a slap in the face to Dave and to every man that Dave has ever faced. It is a slap in the face to Eddie Buchalini Jr., to Mike McCain, to former World Champions like Slayer and Jay T. Nitro; to the owner of this company, Tito Capaci, a former double crown Worlds Champion in his own right. And Riley I consider it a slap in my face. Not only that but it is a slap in the face to every one in the BWF and RXW before it. Plus, Riley, it is a slap in the face to anyone that sees Dave worthy of a main event match. And one such man is my Boss and my friend Bobby McManus. And Riley when you slap so many of a mans friends and colleagues in the face you can expect that man to slap you in the face ten times harder.
Now I understand that it was Riley and not Macros who said these things but at the end of the day it is Macros and not Riley that I am in the ring with at the Supershow, but I know that it will be a hell of a slap in the face to Riley if I stop his guy from getting a shot at the Valor championship. And that is what I intend on doing.
Kilgreen: Strong words there Ci. But throughout this interview so far you have hardly mentioned the Valor championship shot that you could get out of this match. It is also noted that the Tag Team championship was mentioned during your phone call with Dave Hunter. Is it possible that you are over looking the importance of the Valor title?
Big Ci: I never overlook the importance of championships. I think anyone who does is stupid. I think that championships being secondary to something else devalues the championship. I would never do that. It hasn’t come up that much so far because you haven’t brought it up. The Valor Title is a very important championship and I want it around my waist. The Tag team title is also a very important title and Dave brought it up. As far as which is more important the answer is neither. They are two different things. If I don’t win the Valor title, and like I said, anything can happen out there, then I will switch all my focus to the Tag title. If I win the Valor title then I will defend it and it will be my focus. If I win the Valor title and then me and Dave go for the Tag Title and win the my focus will change depending on which one needs it the most at a given time. But when you think about I only have one focus… winning. Winning matches, winning titles. It’s all the same thing.
Kilgreen: Ok Ci. Off subject for a second. It was revealed recently that you were trying to form a faction. Recently you confirmed this rumour and shed some light on the idea. Can you tell us anymore at this time?
Big Ci: Erm… I suppose I can yes. A few months ago I approached my other boss Bobby McManus about trying to recruit some guys to form a faction. He told me he hadn’t got a problem with the idea however he was concerned that the size of the roster would be able to support a faction at that time and that I should wait a while. I have done so. However in that time it has been leaked somehow and the idea has been linked with POW. Whilst not my original thought I can see that it could work better to recruit through POW in conjunction with UWC and devise some kind of touring faction. However because the POW roster is somewhat stronger than the UWC my initial focus would be POW.
With this in mind I figure that there are 4 spots for champions in POW. One world champion, one valour champion and two tag team champions. So due to this I am looking for three other men. Now since my last address, one spot has been filled by my friend Dave which leaves two open. I am not interested in this faction becoming about protecting one man. This is not Evolution or the nWo. This faction is about one thing. The elite. The best. This faction is about everyone in it winning.
I mentioned earlier that I live in Charlotte. There is another man from charlotte who had a similar idea. His name is Ric Flair. He took three other guys and together they became icons and then legends. That is what I would like to do. It wouldn’t be about one guy or two it would be about all four. That’s how I want it to work.
Kilgreen: Well Ci we are almost done. But We haven’t yet heard your full thoughts on Macros. We know of your distain for Riley and we have heard you praise of Erickson but what about Macros himself?
Big Ci: Macros… scares me. Macros is a killer. Whilst I don’t believe for a minute that he came out of ancient Rome like something out of a “Back to the Future” film, I think he does, which is worse. He truly believes that he is from a time when it was perfectly acceptable for you to run a guy through in front of a large crowd. At the Supershow, there will be a VERY large crowd. I have wrestled a guy who can wield a sword with the best of them but he only thinks that he’s dead. He does not think that he’s something out of “Spartacus”. Macros is, in my mind, perfectly capable of killing me or anyone for that matter. This scares the shit out of me. Because when you want something as badly as he wants gold you will do anything in your power to get it. Macros has a lot of power. Luckily, so do I.
So yeah my thoughts on Macros are that he is capable of ending me. But human nature is a brilliant thing. And so when my life is in Danger my primitive instinct kicks in. And that’s even worse than anything out of the Coliseum. When the instinct that helped man survive living with Dinosaurs kicks in, some fruit loop in a tunic doesn’t seem to bad now does he. But I will give Macros all the credit in the world. He is Benoit, Angle, Shamrock, Malenko and everyone else like that all rolled into one. When he is in the zone it is very hard to stop him… But it is not impossible.
Kilgreen: OK Ci last question I think.
Big Ci: Fire away
Kilgreen: What is your strategy going into this match and how do intend on keeping both your opponents away from your injury?
Big Ci: My strategy: Win. How do I intend on keeping them away from my leg? Win… quickly.
Kilgreen: Anything else you want to say?
Big Ci: Lance, Macros see you in a little while. Riley… you’re a tosser. Big Ci over and out
Kilgreen: Greg Kilgreen over and out
Big Ci: I hope that lawyer does gimmick infringement. Cheeky little…

:: Big Ci’s cell rings.
Sorry gents… Oh it’s Dave, give me a second.
:: He answers the phone.
Yes mate
