Was this a test? Or a punishment of fates for that which passed just last week? Karma I believe I have heard it called. How we have lost the professionalism, men now venture to the ring only to injure others. That is what was moving through the mind of the territory wrestler known just as Macros, as he watched the medical specialist for the Power On Wrestling bandage his right foot after suffering a near 300 pounds being driven upon it. The tips of his toes are the color blue; starting to gradually fade to a darker shade every second he watched…the doubt of his abilities to perform in a mere week start to enter his head as the door to the medical rooms bursts open as Riley is pushed through as he is hassled by a combination of POW cameras and local Kansas City Television stations. The self proclaimed “Manager of Champions” has a grim look over his face as he tries to force the hounds of media out the door, the POW camera is allowed into the room so is the small time interviewer Greg Kilgreen. The struggling battle for the entrance to the room is soon won by the manager of Macros, a loud boom of wood echoes through the room as the door connects with the arch of the doorway.
The POW camera turns on as it pans over the temporary room for the medical side of the POW scene, other than the addition of much medical equipment and stock the room was no different than the locker-room. The floor was made of cold tiles which would be painful in the winter and the walls were painted a navy blue, instead of the locker the walls were aligned with tables many of which ranged in different heights. The POW camera finally lands on a smiling Greg Kilgreen, who has tonight dressed in an out of date yet formal suit for the occasion of First Rights.
Greg Kilgreen: Hello everyone I am Greg Kilgreen here, with the only camera that is allowed into the medical rooms of Power On Wrestling. We can report that just minutes ago the wrestler known by many fans as Brock Hoyle was driven to the closest hospital, of course there is no need to worry he is in a stable condition. But to our luck, but probably not his, we have stumbled upon another wrestler who has unfortunately come down with injury. Macros Vitruvious. Ladies and Gentlemen let me introduce to you my guest at this moment, the self proclaimed manager of champions…Riley.
The grim faced manager locks the door to the medical rooms and moves over towards the camera.
Riley: Ya know it’s usually me who starts out with my trademark title, the manager of champions. But Im not going to get on ya case for bringing it up Greg, for obviously now that everyone has seen what my client can achieve they have agreed that the nickname is nothing but the truth.
Greg Kilgreen: Yes. Firstly Riley I would like to congratulate yourself and your client, Macros, for a very entertaining match at First Rights hours ago. But I must wonder if such a match has created a downside for your client, such a downside in the form of an injury?
Riley: To be honest with ya, my client has suffered some minor injury from First Rights. As far as we can currently tell Greg, my client has suffered little but several broken toes to his right foot. Of course some are speculating that even a minor injury such as this will be a downside for my opponent come the Road to All In where he is still to this date scheduled to perform. To answer those speculations I must only give one single word comment, Bullshit. Broken toes shall heal. Broken toes can be covered up or padded. The pain of several broken toes can not demise the spirit or will to compete that lies in his soul. An amount of three hundred pounds crushing into his bones and braking them into pieces does not stand as a downside, but instead only another boundary in which my client must strive to endure and push himself through towards new levels. Just little but days ago there were doubts about my clients abilities to tackle two of the more larger competitors of the Power On Wrestling, men were betting their money on my client and against him as they battled their minds to find a prediction. But come the end of each day there stood only one man who could see through the confusion and visualize the predictive outcome of the match, that man was me. Day after day I stood in front of this very camera and tried to preach to the viewers the truth about my client, time and time again a tried to drive these thoughts of negativity and loss from the minds of the hundreds of legion soldiers doubting my clients abilities. Alas until the second in which the hand of a three hundred pound man started to slap the canvas in agony I could still feel the doubts surrounding the ring, it was until the bell rung and the arm of my client was raised towards the heavens that the doubts were cleared.
Greg Kilgreen: Yes Riley you truly were on the ball all week, in fact if I am not mistaken I believe that your words leading up to First Rights angered not only the competitors of your clients but other wrestlers and managers backstage. Do you think Riley it’s about time you tone your words down a bit? In fact do you believe that your comments may have damaged the relationships between some of the people backstage? Does the word “apology” pop into your mind at all?
Riley: I’m not the type of man to button up my mouth due to a certain amount of people who just cant handle what I say. Ya see those guys in the back who got aggravated at my words just simply cant handle the truth, every allegation I made was the truth. One of the larger allegations which I made was that in UWL Big Ci was known as the jobber to the UWL jobbers. Of course Big Ci denied such a title, but all us guys that were on the roster at the time new that if you picked up the weekly newsletter and read that you were scheduled to wrestler against him you were in for a holiday of a week.
Other than that all I stated was the continuation of my belief that my client is truly the pinnacle in professionalism and wrestling ability this promotion has yet seen. Such comments which have yet to be faulted, yet has my client seen a loss in singles competition. Yet has my client suffered a pinfall or submission loss towards his name, I can say that there have been times in which even I was chewing on my fingernails unsure of the outcome. I ask you how these words can anger men so much, how can only the truth be so hurtful to so many. Of course the solution is jealousness, the solution stares us in the eyes. These men who question my statements and my knowledge are only jealous of the career in which I have accomplished and the career in which is gleaming upon the arisen for my client Macros Vitruvious.
Yet Greg ya say to me that perhaps I should be the one to think of the word “apology” just cause a couple of guys got a little flustered. Ya see Greg, did I start to get aggravated and call for apologies after each and every rumor about my opponents some way found their blame to land wrongfully sitting in my hands? Did I start to get angry when a certain someone, who will now remain anonymous, entered the locker room of my client Macros Vitruvious and decimated the historic piece of Roman armor which sat on the furniture innocently? The answer to those questions was no Greg, ya see there were no need to dwindle on comments and events of the past. For ya must only look towards the future.
The medical team working around Macros now finish and move on to a new patient, the client of Riley now leans his head towards the interview intrigued by the conversation. Greg Kilgreens’ eyes widen as he looks from the wrestler to the manager, the chance for a question of such importance as the one revolving in his head now was as large enough to make his career.
Greg Kilgreen: Riley you brought up the incident in which happened backstage involving the historic armor which, was, in the position of your client. Can I ask what brought you Riley to even think….
The manager is quick to cut in on the interviewer whose question could of just destroyed the relationship between himself and his client.
Riley:…to think that Big Ci was the man behind such a pathetic act. Of course it was obvious the physical evidence as well as the video taped interview showing Big Ci aggressively holding the piece of armor before it’s unfortunate ending points the blame into his hands. My client and myself have tried to put such an unfortunate event behind us now, as I said before we are now looking towards the future.
That trademark look of disgust crosses his face, as does a certain look that screams the words “Don’t raise that question again” towards the interviewer.
Greg Kilgreen: A very intelligent answer there, well then let us talk about what you say that your now focused on…the future. Next week at the Road to All In your client is scheduled to compete against a fan favorite, the ninja himself Reck Maverick.
Riley nods as he puts his right hand in his jacket pocket so as to look relaxed and comfortable. Slowly he opens his mouth as if to talk, nothing comes out, he closes his mouth and thinks of what to say.
Riley: Ya know I don’t believe that my client Macros Vitruvious has yet come up against a man of such worthiness for his competition than that of Reck Maverick. Though he can not see it, Reck Maverick has already won over the hearts of each and every single individual that graces not only the canvas of the Power On Wrestling but also those that watch from the safety of behind the guard rails. Such a victory as that was not only won by the mans wrestling abilities, but also by the attitude and intensity he brings to the ring each week. Now ya only have to listen to those fans scream as he enters the arena, it is possible that even with his entrance the legion fans will throw the thoughts of my client from their minds.
Ya see Reck believes that he needs to beat my client to gain the support of his fans once more, that of course is his incentive to bring himself to a victory. For myself and my client we need this victory to chisel away any of the doubters. Those doubters who have continuously stated that my client has yet to prove himself, those doubters who believe that Reck Maverick will be able to topple my opponent at the Road to All In. My client has been cursed with the fate of continuously being booked against men of lower class and abilities. I shall be honest in saying that one of those championships in which he accomplished was against men of lower class, the championship basically being handed to him. Ya see First Rights was the end of such a curse, First Rights gave my client the opportunity to move on with his career and wrestle against men whom are from the same league. With the victory over two opponent who weighed in at a combined weight of a near six hundred pounds, my client now has the momentum to carry him to the DVD Taping All In and capture not only the Valor Championship but the Tag Team Championship. At this present time my client is focused on the victory, though of course yourself and my client have connections I must say there shall be no holding back on the part of us.
Though Reck I shall announce that mere minutes ago I extended my hand in friendship and opportunity for tag team championship gold that opportunity for alliance shall not stand until the bell rings and either yourself or my client is proven the victor. For my client to move forward with his career towards his destination of POW Championship credentials he must capture the Valor Championship at All In, to capture such he must go through you Reck without the thought or hesitation of any such alliance. Come the Road to All In Reck, whether it be by pin-fall or submission my client will undoubtedly be hearing the ring-announcer yell throughout the screaming of fans, Appius Macros Vitruvious, Victorious!!!
Riley moves from the camera without the slightest remark or look to confirm the interview had ended, the only thought now was to help his client hobble back to his locker room and relax and rejuvenate his strength for the battle which was to come next week as the Power On Wrestling start their journey towards All In. The camera fades to black as words start to appear through the darkness of the end of the interview.
“POW would like to advise all that are interested, that POW manager and contract holder Riley was able to continue such an interview more in depth on the confines of the POW website. The article in question will hopefully be posted within the next 24 hours, POW must warn all that have been offended by his comments already that it is highly recommended they do not venture to read it.”
