Setting: POW Arena
Time: 7:09 PM
-The arena is filled to it’s maximum capacity. In just a few short moments, the next POW House show shall begin. Rich Morrison has requested time for an interview to be recorded and broadcasted on POW’s very own website. Tito Capaci and the good people in the Power On Wrestling Organization has granted his wish. It is being fed to us through our producer that we have allotted time for Mr. Morrison to come out here and express his views. I’m sure we have some people out there interested in what he has to say. Greg Kilgreen is standing in the ring with a microphone. Let’s see what he has to say.-
[Greg Kilgreen]
If I can have your attention please. Much like I was instructed to do for the last few weeks, I am here with this pre-written statement. I am here to introduce one of the most recognized faces in the sports entertainment industry. This man needs no introduction but he requested I give one anyway. He was born in Long Island, New York. He was raised in Queens, New York and he now resides in Manhattan, New York. He stands in at 5’10 and weighs 210 pounds. He is a former LWE World Heavyweight Champion and a former MPW World Heavyweight Champion, as well as a holder of many lower tier titles all over the globe. He is the self proclaimed “Undisputed King of Wrestling”. Ladies and gentlemen, this is…Rich Morrison.
-"Americas Most Hated" by Kevin Federline begins to play over the speakers in the POW arena. The building goes dark and a single light is shown at the entryway. Out of the curtain, "New Money" Rich Morrison appears...but now with a host of bodyguards.
The crowd is booing loudly as Rich arrogantly walks to the ring surrounded by his posse of bodyguards. Every footstep corresponds to a beat in his themesong. He slowly slides into the ring. He gets on the middle rope and throws his arms above his head. He steps down from the turnbuckle and "runs the ropes" for a bit. He finally stops, looks into the camera and grins a cocky, toothy grin.-
[Greg Kilgreen]
Mr. Richard Morrison, it is well known that last week, right before your match with Big Ci- you were worried about a death threat that you received. How has this matter been progressing? Have the cops caught the man expressing such distain for you, that he would risk jail time just to do you in?
[Rich Morrison]
Greg Kilgreen, unfortunately- the piece of garbage that has threatened my life is still out there. He is still out there waiting for his opportune time to try and take me away from everything that I know and love. However, the Kansas City police department has been working around the clock tying to aid in the capture and arrest of this man. The KCPD have teamed up with the FBI to make sure that my life is safe, and that my well being is their highest priority.
[Greg Kilgreen]
You were showing a few signs of paranoia last week. Are you feeling better?
[Rich Morrison]
Of course I’m feeling better! I trust the fact that this man will be caught, incarcerated and hopefully receive the death penalty. That will teach you to try and mess with THEE Rich Morrison. I don’t play games, Greg. I don’t. Much like I did last week with Big Ci. I told everyone I was going to beat him, and I did. I told everyone that I was going to leave him lying flat on his back, and I did. I’m a man of my word.
[Greg Kilgreen]
Well, what about being Zevon’s mystery lumberjack!? You were helping out the northeastern territory. What does that mean, Rich? Not to mention, how does it look!? You know, a lot of people don’t like you, but you are one of the flagship wrestlers on this brand. You can’t keep going around acting as if you own the damn place!
[Rich Morrison]
It wasn’t a matter of helping Zevon, it was a matter of playing the cards right. I just worked a match, just like countless other people. Greg, I don’t owe and explanation to you, to Tito, to the boys in the back or to these people. I do things for ME.
[Greg Kilgreen]
And you want to know why people hate you! And you want to know why there is a hit on your life!
[Rich Morrison]
Don’t get loud with me, Greg. I’ve got eight really big bodyguards outside of this ring, ready to pick apart someone like rabid dogs biting the flesh off of a dead squirrel. You don’t look like a squirrel, do you?
-Greg Kilgreen looks around at the large men, he shakes his head ‘no’ and then straightens his tie.-
[Greg Kilgreen]
Moving on. At SuperMania III, you will be going one on one against Kalius Holmes. Apparently, this is being billed as the “LWE/MPW Grudge Match”. For those people at home who weren’t able to live through the history, can you fill us in on why this match needs to take place.
[Rich Morrison]
Alright, I guess I’ll give you the abridged version so we’re not here all day. About 6 years ago, I started my career in Sports Entertainment. The American wrestling scene was below par, so I had the bright idea to go overseas to Europe to hone my craft and to make a little money. I signed immediately with a company called “More Power Wrestling”. MPW was run by a man named Jamez Hewitt. Now, I use that term loosely because we still don’t know the gender of Jamez. Anyway, Holmes and I were in the MPW for a long time together. However, being American and not being in Hewitt’s “inner circle” shafted me to the opening match. Even when the other wrestlers, and the fans thought it was bullshit, I was still never elevated. So, what did I do? I brought my two best friends into MPW. I had Jamez Hewitt sign Rob Matthews and Chester Coban. At first, we weren’t together. Chester was fighting hardcore matches with Hotice and Rob was fighting for the IC title with some random wrestler who is unimportant. Finally, we all got tired of the nepotism. It was then that we formed a stable called the nMa. The nMa was the “New Money Army”. We weren’t being elevated by Jamez, so we took control. We elevated ourselves. Coban won the Hardcore title, Rob won the IC title…and me?
-Greg is listening intently.-
[Rich Morrison]
I was the mastermind behind the “Great Britain Screwjob”. I was sick and tired of everyone in the company getting shafted so people like Kalius Holmes and Tenacious D got title shots. I was tired of Kyle Neverwinter and Rob Magnum sticking their noses where they didn’t belong. The champion at the time, Tenacious D had just retired. So, the belt was vacant. Jamez decided that it would be funny to book Rob Matthews versus Rich Morrison in a 2/3 falls match for the MPW World Heavyweight Championship. He thought that if he had two nMa guys fighting, it would kill the group.
-Morrison begins to smirk and laugh-
[Rich Morrison]
But oh no, it didn’t kill us. It only made us stronger. I won the MPW World Heavyweight Championship that night against Rob. However, immediately after I won it, the nMa jumped on my private jet and went back to New York City with the MPW title. Using my insurmountable amount of monetary funds, Rob created the Legacy Wrestling Entertainment company. We flew 8 or 9 unhappy MPW superstars out to NYC for a weekend TV show and we were picked up as a weekly show. MPW never recovered. Now, I wonder why Holmes hates me.
[Greg Kilgreen]
You cost those men their jobs, Rich!
[Rich Morrison]
Well, you know what? I don’t care. Do you think Holmes would have cared if it was the other way around? Do you think he would have cared if it was MPW that drove LWE out of business. No, I don’t think so. So, don’t get all twisted into thinking that they didn’t have it coming, because they did.
[Greg Kilgreen]
So, you are pumped for your match?
[Rich Morrison]
I am more than pumped, Greg. I am ready to finally kill what little glory MPW has left in the minds of fans all over the world!
-He laughs.-
[Rich Morrison]
Greg, this interview is over. For the people currently watching over at the POW website, expect me to come out here one more time addressing this matter. I’ve got an ace up my sleeve that is going to leave the professional wrestling world…shocked….stunned and amazed.
-Rich exit’s the ring, he stands in between the 8 security guards as they march towards the backstage area. "Americas Most Hated" by Kevin Federline begins to play over the speakers again in the POW arena. The building goes dark and a single light is shown at the ramp, "New Money" Rich Morrison begins his exit as the light follows him away.-
