Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt.
I had slowly opened my eyes. I was focused on the alarm clock in front of me. It kept buzzing. It was time to wake up, I assumed.
Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bz-
I stretched my hand across the bed and hit the snooze button. I yawned and closed my eyes again, drifting back into my sleep.
Riiing. Riiing. Riiing.
The phone had rung not only a minute later. I groaned and opened my eyes again. The phone continued to ring, and the answering machine wasn’t doing it’s job. The alarm clock then went off again.
Ding dong. Ding dong.
Somebody was at the front door right then and there.
Bzzt. Riiing. Ding dong. Bzzt. Riiing. Ding dong. Bzzt. Riiing. Ding dong.
Scott Lanegan: “Gaaahh!”
I smashed my fist into the alarm clock. The plastic shattered into pieces. One down. I picked up the phone and put it to my ear, but nobody was there. I slammed the phone to it’s position and yawned. Two down. I waltzed to the door and opened it up. The newspaper was on the front step. Three down.
After the frustrating morning, I decided to plop on my chair. I relaxed and turned on rummaged through the chair with my hands. I found the remote and turned on the TV. I flipped through the channels up until I saw a local channel, advertising Legendaria.
Host: “Legendaria has been reported to be a huge success! Night had won back his medallion, Reck Maverick managed to beat Shawn Stevens, a new POW World Champion was crowned and much more! The next show, Road To Reckless Abandon, will open a new chapter for POW! The POW Eastern Heavyweight Champion John Anthony will face off against the returning Josh Eagles. Shadow and Mr. Showtime will finally settle their differences in a street fight. Scott Lanegan, Eddie Jones and Silver will be in a triple threat match for the POW Television Championship and much more!”
I grinned.
Scott Lanegan: “So that’s what it is, huh? Me, Eddie and Silver in the ring for that title.”
I flicked off the TV and got up from the chair. The phone rang again and I walked into my bedroom. I picked up the phone while looking at the caller ID.
Scott Lanegan: “Hey H, long time no see.”
“HK” Hunter Killer: “Yeah, our last encounter didn’t go well. I got spooked. Anyway, I hear you’re in a match for the Television Championship.”
Scott Lanegan: “Yeah, I just found out. This is it, H. This is when I become well known inside that POW ring. I’m tired of always getting on the lower end of the card! I’m tired of being on the bottom!”
“HK” Hunter Killer: “Yeah, that’s what my sister said…”
Scott Lanegan: “Shut the hell up. Anyway dude, if it’s true that I have to face Eddie Jones and Silver…that means I win, right? I mean, I already beat both of these guys countless times in the POW ring. One on ones, to be exact.”
“HK” Hunter Killer: “Scott, it’s different when both will be charging into you at the same time. Don’t get cocky.”
Scott Lanegan: “Nah, I’m not like that. You know me well enough. Both Eddie and Silver can pull something out of their asses. I know that for a fact. I mean, come on, Eddie Jones has been painting recently. All of that toxic might have gotten to his head and made him stronger or something. You know…painting must have really improved his game…”
“HK” Hunter Killer: “Don’t do anything dumb.”
Scott Lanegan: “Well, I’ll be ready. I got to go H.”
I hung up the phone.

Scott Lanegan: “Yeah, that white stuff. I like it a lot.”
I found myself inside the local Home Depot. I was in the paint aisle. Many cans, brushes, chips and other accessories were laid out in the area. I was with an employee, choosing out a paint bucket.
Employee: “So what do you plan on painting?”
Scott Lanegan: “I’m not sure, but it’ll help my career.”
Employee: “Huh?”
Scott Lanegan: “Nevermind. I’ll take it.”

When I arrived back at home, I took a few cans of white paint with me. I look at the house. It did need a new coat at the time.
Scott Lanegan: “I better get started.”
I later found out that everything I did was irrelevant to my match. Actually, why did I even narrate this? Why did I add those last few scenes? It makes no sense. I’m losing it…
