“Dude, I am going to call him Buddy Jr. man…… I’m gonna buy him some blankets so I can wrap him up and keep him warm…. I’m gonna buy him him the best bottle of polish…. Keep him clean and shiny…… oh, gotta buy a car seat……” Buddy says.
Buddy sits on a bench in the Men’s locker room. Buddy sits cradling the Mid-Atlantic championship like it was a new born child. He had defeated the hardcore brawler meltdown, watched his friend Toro Verde lose, and with one punch, knocked out the former champion David Hilt. He never won gold in boxing, he had never won gold in S.E.X., but now, he is the current and defending, Mid-Atlantic Champion. Buddy was going to have to get used to this feeling.
It has been a dream for Buddy to hold gold, but he never knew what he would do when he got gold. He had come back wrestling to give his statesmen hope and a force every Louisianan could get behind. After Katrina, hope was in short supply. Hopefully, Buddy has given hope back to his state. Within hours, Buddy will be home in the French Quarter in New Orleans. He’s going to party hard with his hometown, and give back to the community. He’s got a few days before he is due in Fairfield, Maryland for his match against the Brawler and angry Eddie Jones. It was going to be a fist fight for sure this Sunday.
“It’s time to head out Buddy. If we wanna party in New Orleans and be back in Maryland for your match, we are gotta hit the road……. Sucka!” Big Norm says as he walks into the locker room with a black trash bag.
“Big Norm, what are you-” Buddy starts.
“That’s Big Norm, ‘The Foot-Long Midget, to you sucka!” Big Norm barks.
“Norm…… what’s in the bag?” Buddy questions.
“Sucka! If you are going to be the champ, you gotta dress like the champ……” Big Norm says and reaches into the bag.
The screen fades out for a moment. It fades back outside the New Alhambra Centre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The back door of the arena swings open and out comes Buddy Love and Big Norm. Both wear cheesy silk suits, as if they had been stolen off the set of “Night of the Roxberry”. Buddy is in a purple suit with his arms full with his clothes, gym bag, various bra and panties, wine coolers, a blow-up doll, and the Mid-Atlantic championship belt. Big Norm walks next to him in a bright orange suit. They both strut toward Buddy’s Winnebago.
“See, isn’t this better?” Big Norm says.
“Hell yeah dude……I love purple…” Buddy says with a smile.
“I’m telling you sucka! To be the champ, you gotta dress like the champ. Now I’m driving….. Sucka!” Big Norm shouts and takes the keys from Buddy’s hand.
“Dude, you are a mad man when you drive….” Buddy says as he puts the Mid-Atlantic title belt on the roof, above the door, and starts tossing the rest of his stuff in the back of the Winnebago.
The Winnebago takes off down the highway. “Love Shack”, by the B-52’s, is blarring from the sound system. Buddy and Big Norm are bobbing their heads to the beat. Buddy’s mouth flaps open and shut as he moves his head. Big Norm has the look of a man who just farted across his face. Suddenly, Buddy’s head slams into the passenger side window and shatters it. Big Norm starts to laugh as he continues to bang his head, until his head smacks into the driver’s side window and shatters it as well. They both grab their heads and groan in pain for a moment.
“I told you dude…….. This new song is kicking for my theme song.” Buddy says and checks his hand for blood.
“I know dude……. It’s going to be kicking with your beads, the lights, and that belt around your shoulder.” Big Norm says with a smile.
“Hell yeah dude……” Buddy says and looks back for his belt.
“I’m telling you dude……. We are going to get some many chicks with that belt…..” Big Norm starts.
“Dude……. Where’s Buddy Jr.?” Buddy barks.
“I thought you had him!” Big Norm shouts back.
“Where’d we leave him?” Buddy asks.
Both men look at each other for a moment. Slowly, their eyes gaze upward, till there heads are pointed upward. They snap their heads down and stare at each other. Suddenly, they both scream into each other’s face. They both scream at the same time as Big Norm slams on the brakes. The Winnebago fishtails back and forth and slams to a stop. Buddy leans out the window and looks to the roof. He finds it empty.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Buddy slides back into the passenger seat, shakes his head back and forth violently, and screams no. Big Norm screams and slams on the gas. He guns the Winnebago over the median and cuts across horn blaring cars. They both continue to screen as the Winnebago darts through the rush hour traffic. Buddy punches wildly at the dashboard and roof as he screams. Big Norm shakes his head, screaming and driving the camper like a bat out of hell. The Winnebago flies past random cars, along with Buddy’s and Big Norm’s screams. They cut across another street and blow into the New Alhambra Centre parking lot.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Buddy runs out of the camper and stands above the Mid-Atlantic championship belt. He screams and hops up and down. He throws down his coat and violently shakes the near by light pole. Big Norm joins Buddy outside and continues his screaming. Buddy rushes over to the belt from the light pole and falls to his knees. He wraps the title in his jacket and cradles the belt, still screaming. He starts to rock back and forth, crying and screaming.
“Damn it! We never leave a man behind!” Buddy shouts and screams as the camera fades out.
