Eddie Jones is sitting in front of a POW:New England banner that is set up behind him. He is at an autograph booth at a little indy show in northern Ohio. He is wearing a black Tom Petty shirt and a Seattle Supersonics hat pulled on backwards. He is signing a large 8 x 10 photo of himself in the ring with Jack Cassidy. He has several different photos of himself, both in the ring and a few out of the ring photos. He also has his trusty set of Sharpies (can't go to an indy show without them) at his side. He is casually chatting with some of the fans that approach him.
Eddie: Well, it's good to have the camera from POW on hand here tonight. Following me around is probably far how you wanted to spend your week. Sorry guys.
Eddie signs another autograph for someone before turning back to the camera.
Eddie: I assume you guys are here for some comments from me for this week's show.
Well, let's see here, I know there are like 8 guys in the match. But, as far as I am concerned, there are only like 4 of us that really matter. The others are only in because the POW Management is trying to give off the impression that everyone is important and that everyone will get their chance in New England.
For instance, I know that Buchalini, Barnett, Knight, and myself are in the match. But who else is there? I can tell you, no one. Non-importants. In vide game terms they would be NPCs. Unimportant footnotes. Who are they again? Captain Ragnorack? Three others that I'll never see again? What imprtance are they to me. The four that I don't know, they will be unimportant to the end. Well, they might be important. But only because they will be the ones getting pinned, if they are important at all.
Eddie turns to a man and sells him one of the 8 x 10 photos. Eddie then signs the photo and hands it back to the man.
Eddie: So that leaves four of us. Four to decide who will potentially become the next Openweight Champion. Four of us to get in the ring, and decide who will get a chance to make their own name in New England.
Eddie Buchalini. Junior. Which is where he belongs, in some kind of junior leagues. I'm not talking about junior heavyweights, I'm talking about juniors as in lower class, a lower league. Buchalini, you've already had your shot in New England. You were the Mid Atlantic Champion. Albeit, not a very good one, but you were still the champion. You had the respect of many of your peers in New England. You had your opportunity. And you proved that you couldn't handle that kind of attention. You proved that you could not stand the pressures of being a champion. I think once you realize the pressure that will come from being a champ, you'll crumble and your subconscious will not allow you to win this match.
Chris Knight, you may have gotten the quick win last week. I will give you that. But I don't have to even touch you this week. Not until you have become weak. Not until you have lost your moxy and are tired from the trials that come with fighting seven others. I will not allow myself to lose the fire that I didn't have last week. This week has almost been a revival for me in New England. I've been fighting hard and I've been working my ass off. A week ago, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to still wrestle. But I've found my passion again and I'm ready to come and take my best shot at this. And while you have beaten me in the past, Knight, the future awaits and the future is bright for one, Eddie Jones.
Eddie takes his time to turn and sign a couple more autographs for a few younger fans. He caps his black Sharpie and turns back to the camera.
Eddie: Cory Barnett, I've heard from many sources that I should be taking you as a threat. And don't worry, because I am. Otherwise, you would be grouped in with the others that I earlier mentioned in passing. However, even if I think this could be your breakout match, I want to know why I should be worrying about you? What have you done in POW so far? What have you shown us here that makes me worry about you? So far, I haven't seen anything out of you that impresses me. While you may be some kind of blue chipper in hiding, I still am going to wait on you, and ask myself at a later time, if I really was justifed in worrying about you.
Eddie turns to a small group, apparently family of some kind. Eddie takes his time signing the entire group's stuff, including one boy's shirt, another man's baseball cap, and a picture that one girl had of herself and Eddie. Eddie signs it all (using his Sharpie markers) and even takes a picture with the entire group before they depart to continue watching the wrestling action.
Eddie: This is a new era, not only for POW, but for me as well. Tony Hunter has replaced Lovejoy as New England's head booker, the titles are finally being given out, New England is rapidly changing. But POW is not the only thing entering a new era. I am as well. No longer am I just going to stand around and do nothing. No longer will I allow myself to get walked all over. No longer am I going to dormantly stand by as POW progresses into a new age. I am going to change that. I am going to become a part of the biggest movement in pro wrestling since ECW. I am making my name known, not only in New England, but in Midwest as well. This is the start of a new generation of pro wrestling. One being spearheaded by POW. One, that includes me.
The announcement for intermission is played over the P.A. system. The camera fades out as Eddie will not have as much time to speak while he is signing autographs and such.
