Following Dave's interview with Stephie, he heads to the locker room, where Jack Greaves and Guy Haight are waiting for him. They've heard what he said, and are worried that he's foreshadowing something about his career that neither of them will like. Unsure how to approach it, Jack just blurts out without thinking, as usual.
Jack: Dave! Are you thinking about leaving POW? Because you can't do that! Who else am I gonna hang out with? Guy? (Guy shudders at this) He's way boring. Who am I going to force to talk about things like if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? WHO AM I GOING TO FORCE TO LET ME WATCH CATS ON THEIR T.V.?
Guy: Dude, you can't leave Jack all to me...I, I'd go...more crazy...
Dave: Calm down guys, I'm not going anywhere. I'm just feeling a bit tired is all. I've worked my ass off for this title, and I just think I deserve a little break. I've had to deal with a lot of shit, especially if you factor in working two feds, and the shit that goes on there.
Jack: Oh...But then it'll be just as boring as if you left? Do you know what happens when I get bored?
Dave: You fall asleep. I don't get it, with all the energy you and other people with add have, the slightest bit of boredom knocks you out. It makes like, no sense. I had a sister like that. Then again she was always getting in trouble too...Once she set my closet on fire, and burnt up my Mighty Morphin Power Rangers tapes...*sniff*...But even she doesn't hold a candle to your insanity...
Jack: I KNOW! Hehehe. Fire! That's a good idea. Maybe that's something I should try out when I need something to do...
Guy: Ugh. Please refrain from putting harmful ideas into his head. Matter of fact, any ideas at all. He's liable to make them harmful.
Dave: He's too impressionable for you to ask me something like that...But anyway, you have to admit, I've been through a lot. And it's a lot for someone new to the business like me, it's hard to handle. Backyard wrestling pales in comparison to stuff like this. I've lost more than a couple matches due to other people, or getting screwed over. I was glad to get away from that freak Orge when I first went to POW, only to find out he followed me here, and then I just couldn't get away from him.
Then you came along and...I don't really think I need to explain. I went back to midwest for a lumberjack match, just for those thugs to try and rough me up, and lemme tell you, I'm glad they're getting stirred up over there. And I finally got the shot I deserved, and got screwed out of it. A whole month of bullshit before I got this baby (Dave polishes his belt).
Guy: That's very understandable, Dave. I know it's a lot, but as a manager, let me help you out here. You didn't get where you are by backing down, right? How many people can say that within a couple months of the START of their career have won a championship in such a respectable company? Not to mention the fact that you'll likely gain another elsewhere. You're championship material, Dave. People might forget that if you go anywhere. And I can tell you that more than a few people would be upset by it.
Dave: Yeah...but what now? I've got the title. The chase was the thrill, not that I have it...I don't know. Trying to keep it doesn't bring the same type of rush.
Jack: Dude, the Mid-Atlantic Championship isn't the only title on POW. You could go anywhere from here, when I get back into action , we could snag the tag team titles. You could shoot for the open weight championship. Who cares about some "renegade." Who even knows what one is....And the Heavyweight Championship. If anyone could get past Zevon's crazy standards, it'd be you. Or John Anthony...But that doesn't cheer you up, heheh...heh.
Guy: Or you could take your chances at Midwest. I know it'll probably be hard for you to adjust to a new boss either way, so who knows. I know you liked Randall, and he liked you.
Dave: Yeah, Randall was cool as hell, and I admit, I'm gonna miss im. I don't know guys...what you're saying helps, and it makes sense, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm exhausted. I guess we just gotta see where this all takes me.
Guy: Just go out there and have a good match with Buddy tonight. Take it match by match and day by day, and see how you feel. If it doesn't change, maybe a break would be best. Because then you will just keep down the track you've been on for the past couple weeks, and that puts your title in severe jeopardy. If you're not passionate about this, you will go down the gutter.
Dave: ...Yeah, I know. But I guess, if that does end up being my option, it will be nice when I come back and take NE by storm, again, heh. Either way...I guess these guys gotta watch their back.
