Barroom Hero by Dropkick Murphy’s kicks up on the p.a. at a house show in Dover the crowd starts to boo but notices something strange thing, a calm, sober, tired and sad looking Cormac. He doesn’t acknowledge the crowd with taunts or curses but with simple nods, he even stops to shake hands with some of the fans at ringside. The crowd is perplexed and quiet as Mick enters the ring, taking to the center of the squared circle with a microphone in hand. He motions to cut the music with a cool movement of his hand. As he brings the microphone to his lips there are tears in his eyes.
Mick: Ladies and gentlemen, I do not come to you as Mick The Irish Brawler, Mick the Saint of Sin City, Mick Terror Unleashed, or any of the names you have heard me be called in the wrestling world since I came into the business, no tonight I talk to you plain and simple as Mick Cormac the man. Me the man just to tired to continue the pain, to tired to continue the lying. Folks as many know backstage and many of you know here I am no stranger to the bottle, and rumours have came about that I have done stronger things, and am addicted to all of these. I have come here to tell you with a heavy heart and much disappointment in myself, I admit to it fully. Kindly as always Mr. Lovejoy has given me the opportunity to recover and become what I should be: a cleaner and better person. I know that for many of you in the crowd tonight are shocked and I know no matter what I say some of the guys will come out here later this week and call me weak and drag my name through the mud and shit just to propel themselves higher, but remember you fools that one day I’ll be back to ram those words down your throat. I thank you all that have supported me, thank you the fans for making me standing here today possible. Thank you.
The now silent crowd stands applauding Mick Cormac as Barroom Hero comes up once more and he walks out of the ring and up to the top of the ramp, there at the top he raises his fist in a goodbye and mouths thank you one more time to the now cheering crowd.
