Place: Michael's 8th Avenue Ballroom - Glen Burnie, MD
Event: Road to Red, White & Bruised
When: 7/1/07
Match: Buddy Love v. Gamer Nerd
Scene: Gamer Nerd's Apartment
After a long day and a well-deserved victory over Toro Verde last week, Gamer Nerd decides to head to his apratment to relax with his roommates. He parks his car in a parking spot outside of the building. then he shuts the car off, with the keys in his hand he gets out and locks the front door and enters the building and goes to his apartment on the 2nd floor. As he enters, nerds #1 & #2 are seen sitting to have Gamer Nerd update them on his progress and who he's facing for next week's show.
Nerd #1: GN, that was an awesome, yet quick match you had against Toro Verde!
GN: Sure was. But I wanna congratulate you guys for putting the Nerd News Network together, I love doing it.
Nerd #2: It was our idea to come up with it so we decided to come up with our little news segment. So you're 2 for 2 now, huh?
GN: Yep. Since my debut in POW: NE, I defeated 2 opponents with ease. Next week as the road to Red, White & Bruised continues, I'll be facing Buddy Love who happens to be a former boxer. Well after 11 years of playing both Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! & Super Punch-Out!!, in 1995, I knocked out one of the boxers in 29 seconds and I mean 29 seconds and that record is still standing ever since. I've also beaten other boxers like Bald Bull, King Hippo, Glass Joe, Piston Honda and the list goes on and on.
Nerd #2: Does Buddy Love even have a boxing background?
GN: Yes he does & we nerds have a video game background.
Nerd #1: What does Buddy Love do anyway?
GN: Well some might say that he's a former boxer, some might say that he's a stand-up comedian and some might say he's just a stranger. Either way, he'll be the one down for the count and I guarantee you it's not gonna be me going down for the count like Little Mac in the past. This is not boxing, this is wrestling where he'll be down for the 3 count.
Nerd #2: If this were your version of Punch-Out!!, what's the one move you'll use on him?
GN: The one move I'll be using to win the match against Buddy Love is the Game Over and why? Because it's the only move I use on my opponents to help me win my matches, but if he wants to to turn the match into a game of Punch-Out!!, I'm ready to come out fighting.
Nerd #1: GN, we all know that boxing & wrestling don't mix, but why would a former boxer wants to step in the ring and fight you?
GN: It's because he doesn't want to don the boxing gloves anymore and parted ways with the boxing industry and yes we all know that 2 things don't mix. But the 2 things that doesn't mix are video games & wrestling. So this Sunday as the road to Red, White & Bruised continues, we'll see who wins my version called Gamer Nerd's Punch-Out!! and the rules are the same as the original Punch-Out!! series and if Buddy Love's listening, he better be ready because I'll be the one who'll come out fighting!
