The scene opens up with Lance Erickson strutting through the Ameristar Casino, wearing his "suit" and the POW Television Championship belt strapped around his waist. Lance Erickson walks through the Poker Pit and is met with a raucous applause as he stops and stares at all the people who are waiting for the "Road to Spring Breakage" to start while spending a few of their hard earned dollars in the casino. Lance Erickson smiles for the crowd and pulls the Title belt off his glorious waist and holds it up for all to admire. The audience clamors to get to Lance, but he fends them off, saying that he has to go get ready. As he's entering the POW Employees Only door, he pauses and pulls one of his halter tops out and throws it into the crowd. While the audience is busy murdering each other to get to the shirt, Lance slips into the back and heads to his locker room. He pauses outside the door where it has a brand new placard that states "Lance Erickson - Television Champion". Lance smiles and goes into his dressing room. After he changes into his ring gear, a knock is heard at the door and Greg Kilgreen walks into the room with a cameraman.
Greg Kilgreen: Alright man, let's get this started. I know you have to do your warm-ups and stuff right?
Lance Erickson: Yeppers.
Greg hooks up his microphone and gets into position next to Lance. He counts down for the camera to start rolling while Lance looks off into the distance (at the wall).
Greg Kilgreen: And here we are, in his first exclusive interview since becoming Television Champion, Lance Erickson. Lance, how does it feel, being a rookie and being the first to hold that belt.
Lance shifts the belt up to his shoulder and admires it for a second.
Lance Erickson: Hi Mom! Sorry, I've always wanted to do that on camera. Yeah, it feels great holding this belt. I've accomplished a lot since I've become a professional wrestler.
Greg Kilgreen: I'll say, you have a winning record, you're in the top 3 of the most popular wrestlers. Hell, after Rich Morrison's defection to his old ways, I think you might be the second most popular, right behind Reck Maverick.
Lance Erickson: True, I do have a winning record, but it's only 66%. I this were school, I'd have a D. I need to get that percentage up, starting with tonight. The most popular POW Superstar thing...that's really flattering. I mean, it's great that all the fans come out to see me kick badguy ass.
Greg Kilgreen: Speaking of Badguys, you're facing Black in a few hours with your new title on the line. This guy beat 9 other guys to get this shot.
Lance Erickson: I know, I've heard him prattle off his little accomplishment off for the past week like he's got nothing better to say. Granted, beating 9 guys is impressive, but I could've beaten those nine guys with a broken arm. The only other one worth mentioning in that match was Mr. Showtime. Black, if you can beat nine other guys of my or any of the other champion's calibre, then you can talk.
Greg Kilgreen: Bold words there...
Lance Erickson: (Interrupting) He couldn't beat one man who wasn't even at my calibre a few weeks back at First Rights. Maybe he could've if the match had gone on longer, but that's not what happened. Black says that DeAngelo was a beaten man after they eliminated the other two. Black says that DeAngelo was too wasted by his arsenal. If that's the case, then Black should've beaten him. If that's what happened then Black lacks the killer instinct, the ability to finish a match. If you have the chance to finish a match, then you have to take it. I've already learned this, and it's why I have gold around my waist.
Greg Kilgreen: So we're back to the Belt again, I see.
Lance Erickson: Those who hold these titles are the best the business has to offer. I don't plan on losing this title even after I move on to bigger and better things, such as the Valor or Heavyweight Championship.
Greg Kilgreen: Black recently said that you have no idea what a japanese wrestler is capable of...
Lance Erickson: And he called me a stereotypical American Wrestler. An American wrestler is somebody along the lines of Hulk Hogan. I'm not an american wrestler. I may be from America, but I'm a collegiate and Greco-Roman wrestler, and a master of both. And he's wrong, I do know what those japanese wrestlers are capable of, and the only japanese wrestling Black is capable of is Sumo. Last time I checked, flab checking me out of the ring ain't gonna win you the match.
Greg Kilgreen laughs as Lance Erickson moves the belt to his other shoulder.
Lance Erickson: (Turning to Camera) Black, there are a couple of things you need to learn, and I will educate you now. Your master there is a friggin moron, and he's done a bang up job on you. You see, I am like a snake, fast and lethal. But if you kill a snake, it is still deadly. The snake is still capable of inflicting a bite on it's victim. Even if you think I'm down and out, I still have plenty left in the tank. I am still able to inflict massive amounts of pain and torque your bodyparts in ways they weren't meant to go.
Don't worry, I don't think you're some talented wrestler who got a title shot out of luck. I know for a fact that you're an UNtalented wrestler who got a title shot because he was lucky. These are your fifteen minutes buddy, use them wisely, because at the end of them you will be laid out on your back. I want your "Honorable" master down at ringside tonight. I want him to watch his star student brought to tears at the hands of a Gaiden...Gaijin...whatever the hell that word was. Even if he helps you, there will be two bodies left in my wake instead of one.
Lance Erickson grabs the Television Championship and holds it above his head while the camera zooms out and Greg Kilgreen looks up at the shininess.
