For a change of scenery we are on the roof of the Ameristar Casino. It's nighttime, it would be safe to assume this shortly after the last show. We find our hero, Reck Maverick sitting on the edge of the roof - his mask is off and he's sipping a now trademark Diet Pepsi. He is approached by his closet confident - Jayde. She sits down beside him.
Jayde - Penny for your thoughts?
Reck Maverick - What's wrong with me?
Jayde - Let's see... your insane, anti-social, bi-polar... did I mention your insane?
Reck Maverick - I don't mean that... I mean when did I start to suck so bad that I am LOSING to second rate joke accounts like Night and Daye. I'm better then them, I've battled the best in the industry, both here in the US and over in England. Sure I would LOVE to say that I've beaten them all - but that would be a lie... I've never been a huge fan of losing, but I've grown to accept it - but those two... BEATING me - in a TAG MATCH of all thing, MY speciality... Have I lost the edge already?
Jayde - You haven't lost anything. You had a bad night 'tis all. It happens to everyone - Hell even Josh and Flap got beat tonight. A single loss means nothing - You are still among the best in the Midwest branch of POW - hell the ENTIRE POW for that matter, you got one of the best records in the company and your still in contention for the Midwest Heavyweight Championship. Speaking of which, match number two with Josh will be the MAIN EVENT at the next show.
Reck Maverick - He's got to fight Macros at the New England DVD correct?
Jayde - As far as I know yeah, my contract is for Midwest, I don't deal with New England.
Reck Maverick - I hope Macros kicks his ass, sure he's no longer my partner but that was Riley's fault... not his.
Jayde - Ha ha! Yeah, get the other half of M & M to bust up Eagles and make your match easier.
Reck Maverick - No...
Jayde - What?
Reck finally breaks his focus from the city streets and looks at his fellow ninja.
Reck Maverick - I said want Mac to kick Beagles' ass, not seriously hurt him... I want to battle Josh at his best. I don't rely on others to do my battles for me. If I am going to defeat Josh - I want to be one on one, in a fair fight.
Jayde - You know that Josh won't feel that way, you KNOW he'll send Flap or any number of cronies to try and take you out.
Reck Maverick - Yeah, Beag's is notorious for have other people doing his own dirty work. But if he has any honour left and if he's listening...
Reck looks right at the "hidden" camera.
Reck Maverick - BECAUSE I KNOW I'M BEING FILMED! I want him to face me one on one as it should be. I'll leave the Horsemen out of it if he agrees to battle honourably.
Jayde - Well you should be able to beat him one on one... I mean you won pretty easily at the last DVD taping.
Reck Maverick - Josh was not as his best then, he was still used to being in the "Other" company where he easily beat his opponents. Spring Breakage served as a "Wake up Call" for Josh, to let him know that POW is indeed the premiere company in the United States.
Jayde - Do you think he's at best now?
Reck Maverick - For his sake... he better be, if not... then I'm one step closer to FINALLY getting the title shot I've been gunning for nearly 4 months.
Jayde - Well, then let's hope Josh is still living in the other "Universe." Now come on! Ci and the guys sent me up here to get you... WE'RE GOING CLUBBING!
Reck Maverick - Wha?
Jayde stands up and grabs Maverick and starts pulling towards the entrance as the scene ends.
