Previously at POW Spring Breakage '07...
Despite all the self-praising and over-glorification that Josh Eagles spewed out about himself, and that he would easily wipe the floor with Our Hero... Josh Eagles would find his Egosystem shattered by the end of the night as Reck Maverick prevailed against the gutter-slime and pinned his former sidekick to the mat 1-2-3 after making Eagles crash and burn with the Spine Buster. Meanwhile, Earlier in the show - the half brother of The Atomic Ninja - Flap Flanagan had failed to grab the coveted "AAA" Medallion from the top of the ladder and now finds himself floating in limbo... Now The Story Continues...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We start off in the bowels of the Ameristar Casino, The camera pans through the area, showing off racks and racks of Reck Maverick's elite Ninja Weapons. There is some vintage 80's pop rock playing in the background. As we find Reck Maverick standing alone in the shadows - his eyes closes and his fingers interlocked - with the exception of the Index fingers and the thumbs which are extended. He is muttering some Mystic Incantations as Jayde Nightwood - POW's newest correspondent and long time associate of The Atomic Ninja approaches. She stops in front of him and waits - obviously she is fully aware of what Reck Maverick is doing - practicing the ancient art of SHA - The Healing of Self and Others.
Soon he stops and opens his eyes and looks at Jayde, then the camera, the back to Jayde and nods. She returns the gesture then turns her attention to the camera guy - who for once isn't Jim and gives him the signal to begin.
Jayde - Ladies and Gentlemen, I am backstage... er rather BELLOW stage with "The Atomic Ninja" Reck Maverick fresh off his win against Josh Eagles at POW Spring Breakage. Reck Maverick, what were your thoughts on Josh Eagles and the match?
Reck Maverick - Well I would LIKE to say it was a hellacious battle and one of the best of my career... That is what I would LIKE to say, but I cannot. For all the ill-feelings and hatred my former sidekick brought up in the dull interviews I thought he might actually "Bring It" in the ring. His performance was lackluster and un-inspiring... no wonder he got over so well in UWL!
Jayde - Oh... BURN!
Reck Maverick - Indeed, I know what his problem was... You see Eagles doesn't believe in evolution - that things can change. He went in thinking he was fighting Reck Maverick circa 2005 with a new set of threads. He cannot grasp the concept that I have evolved past the days being a one-dimensional character in the Independent circuit. That I am constantly re-inventing myself every step of the way. The Reck Maverick you see right now is not the same dude you saw three months ago in that match against Dan Real on the Road to First Rights, nor am I the same dude that fans hated in Kentucky a year ago, and I am not the same guy that was busting teeth and stealing souls in the UK 4 years ago.
Can Josh Eagles claim the same fact? Maybe - I stopped watching him years ago when he tried to claim I was jipping him out of his merchandising revenue. I heard that he changed his ring name a couple times, and his clothes a couple of times but he was more or less the same kid that could take for hours without coming to a point and then getting into the ring and ripping off people's arsenal for 10 minutes.
Jayde - Some pretty harsh words from the "Hero of the Story" you will have a chance to back up your words this week in a Three Way Dance between Josh Eagles, Flap Flanagan and yourself. Your thoughts...?
Reck Maverick - How long have you known me Jayde?
Jayde is a little confused, she wasn't expecting that as a response.
Jayde - Um... Since 2005 I believe.
Reck Maverick - What was the one thing you learned about me in that time?
Jayde - That there 241 ways to kill someone with a tomato?
Reck Maverick - Indeed, by I was referring to the fact that you should NEVER ask for my thoughts on ANYTHING, but since you opened Pandora's Box let me share my thoughts on my opponents...
First of course their is Beagles - who will likely walk out to the ring and mouth off about how SOMETHING wasn't fair in our match and that my win was a fluke - you know the same TIRED routine he's always done. Then I believe he will go to his "Private" locker room or something and attempt to study my matches so he will be "Better prepared." He'll study and study and still not know a thing about my style...
Jayde goes to interrupt back Maverick cuts her off.
Reck Maverick - No, not because my arsenal is "too radical for his fragile mind to comprehend" but because his sub-conscious will not allow him to think that I have changed since I entered the ring for the first time so many years ago. So he will sit there in the dark... And come up with a "Master Plan" - he will go after Flap instead of me because he knows he can beat Flap. He will try to pin Flap then claim to beat me...
Or maybe he will do something completely different - there has got to a first time for everything and maybe this will be the first time he will surprise me and do something new and original... But I doubt it.
Jayde - And your other opponent? Your brother - Flap Flanagan?
Reck Maverick - I will not underestimate him due to his "condition" if that is what you are thinking. I've known Flap literally all my life, I know all his thoughts, needs, wants, desires and fears - and likewise he knows that about me. He is my closest confident, and also my greatest threat. He may be blood, but I will not treat him any different from every other person I have battled in the ring here in POW Midwest...
Jayde - Is that all?
Reck Maverick - For now... yes.
Jayde turns her attention to the camera.
Jayde - Thank you Reck Maverick for those comments. This has been Jayde Nightwood reporting - Alex, Tony back to you!
