The scene opens in Stevens locker room. He standing in his special 'big match' golden and black leather pants, with the gold outlining the green of the Triple S logo. He doesn't have any of his other gear on, no boots, no pads, no tape, no bandana, no championship belt. The rest of those items are sitting on a coffee table laid out nicely. Stevens is stretching and preparing for his match. He appears to finish up as he cracks his neck and sits down in the chair next to the table. Stevens grabs his boots.
Shawn: Time draws near. In mere hours I have what many are calling my biggest title defense ever. I, the POW Heavyweight Champion, am set to face the POW Valor Champion. A man with a history that dates back twenty to thirty some odd years. No simple task. All week we have been jawing back and forth about who comes from where, who thinks they can control the match, who thinks they will wallk out with MY championship......but in mere hours it becomes a moot point. Two men will enter the ring and one will leave with the POW Heavyweight Champion, it's as simple as that.
Stevens begins to lace up his left boot after sliding his foot into it.
Shawn: Duke has been watching tapes, training, sitting in baths to lower the pain he feels from his entire body. Mine is that of a young man. No injuries, no sore spots, no weaknesses. It may sound like arrogance, but that's the truth, that's who I am and that's who he is. Duke has suffered setbacks and major almost career ending injuries over the length of his career.....the worst I've had has been a concussion, which in itself was almost a year ago. Hardly a weaning or nagging injury to worry about.
Stevens tightens his left boot up and switches to the right. He slides his foot in and begins to lace it up.
Shawn: Duke believes he can control the pace of the match, I'm confident that I can do the same. But either way that will hardly give the one in control the advantage. One big move, one big counter, one risk, one mistake.....that's all it will take for either of us to put this match away. It can go on for the full hour time limit and even then, but ONE move or wrong move can end it for either of us. It's good we know what each other are capable of, because that is what makes a truely good match.
Stevens tightens the right boot not, he then grabs his elbow pads and slides them on. Next his bandana, again a special 'big match' selection being gold with black and green stars, he wraps it around his head and tightens that as well. Then he grabs the wrist tape and begins taping his left wrist, then his right. He snaps the tape and smacks his wrists testing how tight both are wrapped. Stevens stands up and grabs his sunglasses from the table. He opens them and puts them on. Finally he grabs the POW Heavyweight Championship belt. He stares at it deeply in thought.
Shawn: This is what it is all about. The bullseye on my back as many call it. But no matter how many shots people have taken, it still is mine. In just a few hours it is once more up for someone to try and take from me. But as proven many times, it's not an easy task and I promise I will retain my title. I didn't win it by luck, and I haven't kept it by luck. Everyone claims they're in this business to reach this goal. Who cares what half of them say....the rest who come close.....Morrison, FDCM, Danielson.....they may know what it tastes like to hold it, but those memories for them are becoming few and far between. They fade with every passing day. The veterans time is over, it's time for them to realize that. Those of us in the new generations thank them for getting us the chance to be in our spots, but its no longer their time. They can all make claims about being "Kings of Wrestling and Controversy", "Real World Champions" or "The Future" when they're the past.....but if those are the only titles that they can make claim to so be it....because I have the POW Heavyweight Championship.....but most of all I have a title no one can take......and that of course is being Simply SENSATIONAL!
Stevens takes the title belt and wraps it around his waist. He locks it on and opens the door of the room. Triple S steps into the hall and takes a deep breath. He turns and starts to walk down the hall as the scene fades to black.
