The scene opens in Shawn Stevens home on the south side of Chicago. He's in his study staring at the wall that showcases all of his championship wins. The one he is staring at in particular is the POW Midwestern Heavyweight Championship. Sara walks into the room in a robe. Her hair looks wet showing she just got out of the shower. Stevens continues to stare at the championship as she grabs his arm.
Sara: Come on hon. You got this. Don't worry.
Stevens shakes his head.
Shawn: I'm not worried. I'm thinking. How good Maverick's Blade of Legend would look with all these belts. What if I took the one thing he covets more than anything?
Sara: He thinks he talks to Andre the Giant, has someone dressed in a power ranger costume around, and his brother spends his time with an eighties muppet.....that whole family is screwed up. I don't know if taking that from him would affect him.
Stevens lets out a brief laugh.
Shawn: Oh I know it would. Maverick is a simpleton. A happy go lucky man who lives in a fantasy world. In that world he believes that he is a ninja, talks to dead men, hangs with japanese action stars, and most of all, that he can beat me. He's living in a delusional world.
Sara: Well then let's go watch a movie.
Sara tugs at his arm but Stevens doesn't budge.
Shawn: I'd rather not. I'm deep in thought tonight. About how I am going to destroy Maverick in the first two falls. I will make him TAP. I will make it so he can't STAND anymore. I will take his pride. Take his career. Take his life. Take it all. I'll leave him a sad broken man....just like his brother. A joke of a wrestler who can't do anything. Maverick has gotten the knack for not being able to capitalize on the big one.....and at Legendaria that continues.
He won't have a prayer once that bell rings. This match was made to give HIM the advantage....but nothing can given anyone an advantage over me. Look at me. I am the BEST star in this business. The crowds love to watch me even to this day. They want to see which of their favorites I will focus on and destroy next. It's amazing the crowd disliked me the moment I shook Rich Morrison's hand, yet they continue to watch my every move. Waiting to see what I do next. Such a wonderful talent I have.
Sara: That you do, but can we go watch a movie? I'm tired.
Again he shakes his head.
Shawn: I said no. I'm not tired.
Sara: Ok?
Shawn: You can go to sleep. But I'm just too focused on ending Maverick.
Sara: That's unhealthy. You're too obsessed with it.
He finally snaps his head around to look at her.
Shawn: I'm not obsessed. I'm just ready to finish this once and for all. This will be the last time I ever have to see Maverick across the ring from me. I will be done with him and his months and months of work will be for nothing. His series with Eagles will have stood for nothing, the Horsemen versus the Flush feud will have been just a laughable moment of his career.
He will go back to facing the likes of Eddie Jones and Scott Lanegan barely being booked on shows anymore. And it will be all because of me. I will single handedly prove to the world that this whole time, his accidental title shot will have just been one more punchline onto his sad meaningless career. His cries of favoritism will be for nothing because the world can see that he's been a flop the whole time. His only claim to fame is the MPW World Championship, the belt that has been on more guys than Jenna Jameson. A belt that meant nothing.
My title means something because I beat back every challenger that stepped in front of me. Every time, every opponent. Same finish. Me STILL as the champion. Just like this week. I will win. I will retain my belt. I will be the best in POW for years to come. FDCM, Holmes, Maverick, Anthony, Zevon.....nothings compared to me. The legacy of "Sensational" Shawn Stevens will surpass the supposed legends of th past and I will become the most recognized star in the world.
Sara: Now can we go watch a movie?
Stevens sighs.
Shawn: Fine. Let's go.
The pair walk out of the room and the scene fades when Stevens flips off the lightswitch.
