Isaac Marshall: You ready?
He asked, standing beside Bailey Tinsley in a small studio backdrop. Light blues and calming reds decorate the setting. Kailus, wearing a casual black t-shirt and smart denim jeans, smiled confidently as he adjusted his hair tie, keeping his dyed red tipped hair from becoming wild.
Kailus Holmes: What do you think?
Bailey Tinsley: Just be careful.
She warned with a frown on her brow. It did bring an air of confusion about as Kailus turned to look at her.
Kailus Holmes: What do you mean by that?
Bailey Tinsley: This isn't a show dedicated to wrestling. I wonder if this woman has even watched one of the POW shows before, let alone even known about you.
Having enough, Kailus raises his hand, cutting Bailey off.
Kailus Holmes: Bailey, relax. Everybody has heard about Kailus Holmes.
Marshall rolled his eyes, the sarcastic remark he was making within his mind was clear for all to see... apart from Kailus who had his back turned to the Enforcer.
Bailey Tinsley: Well... just be careful about what you're going to say, okay?
The confident wink from his eye sealed the deal and a man dressed all in black and wearing a stage cap approached the three.
Stage Hand: The Holmes party?
He called out. Even to a person who had never watched a wrestling show or even knew about who these people were had to grasp even the slightest bit of common sense when looking at them. Large frames, muscular bodies, the kind of people that look like they could rip your arm out of your socket, shout their catchphrase and beat you to death with it, all in the space of a minute!
Isaac Marshall: Yeah.
He confirmed, the stage hand smiling and entering the “inner circle”.
Stage Hand: Excellent, okay well, if Mr. Marshall and Mrs-
Bailey Tinsley: Miss.
Bailey cut him off, correcting him rather sharply. The stage hand nodded and smiled, accepting his mistake.
Stage Hand: Miss Tinsley, to the audience, we have a couple of seats reserved especially.
The cameras began to roll and the melodic music, introducing the show to the audience and to the viewers watching at home, to the much loved show. Marshall casually slapped Holmes' back, the manly ritual of “good luck”. Holmes responded, thanking him for the gesture. Bailey gave the typical hug and they set off towards the audience. Holmes looked on at the entrance way towards the main set. He could hear everything, the music, the audience clapping and cheering and even the host. One of America's greatly loved women, returning back to the television screen... or rather for Talknet's Internet television show... none other than Sally Jessie Raphael!
Sally sat on her comfy Victorian crafted wooden armchair and greeted the fans with her warm smile. Which they lapped up. The music and the audience calmed down and finally she began her much anticipated introduction speech.
SJR: OOOOH my goodness!
She gasped, laughing and generally seeming excited.
SJR: Welcome everybody to the new and improved Sally Jessie Raphael show!
The audience cheered and clapped like seals in a sea show. The stage hand, finally making his way to the empty seats, pointed out to Bailey and Isaac where they would be. He smiled at Bailey and bid them farewell and disappeared to the back.
Isaac Marshall: This should be interesting.
He sarcastically whispered, leaning over to Bailey to make sure she heard.
Bailey Tinsley: Remind me again why Kailus is doing an interview with Sally? Didn't she like, stop this show ages ago?
Isaac Marshall: Don't ask me. I don't tend to watch this shit.
A disgruntled audience member placed his fingers on his lips and let out a forceful and angered blast of breath, shushing Isaac from his conversation. Obviously a die-hard Sally fan. Loser.
SJR: And what a show we have to begin with. Now, usually when we've done past shows about pre-wed teens, kids going to boot camp and mothers who are too depressed to look after themselves, we decided that the best way to start the new show, was to open with a completely new topic for the Sally show. Which is why we are going to be talking about Sports Entertainment. Is entertainment really worth the risk?
Isaac Marshall: Uh oh.
He joked, looking forward to seeing how the interview would turn out. And how Kailus would react.
SJR: The world of Sports Entertainment is one that has brought controversy, anger amongst people and what would be described as addiction. And tonight, we take a detailed look at the world of professional wrestling to get a clearer picture of what exactly goes on, so if you would all like to welcome my first guest on the Sally show... a professional wrestler currently competing for his thirtieth championship... nicknamed “The Voice of Reason”... Kailus Holmes.
The traditional Sally introduction music played and Kailus stood by the entrance way. He shook his fists and began the walk. The crowd welcomed him with warm applause. He smiled and strutted straight to his seat, directly next to the host.
Sally leant over to him and shook his hand, welcoming him personally to the show.
SJR: Kailus, welcome to the show.
Kailus Holmes: Thank you.
Bailey Tinsley: So far so good.
She sighed with relief, half expecting Kailus to come out and talk smack to the crowd.
SJR: Now, you've been competing in wrestling professionally for how long now?
Kailus Holmes: Nearly ten years.
SJR: That's very impressive.
Kailus smiled at the comment, his confidence clearly shining through like a neutron star.
Kailus Holmes: I get that a lot.
He joked, the crowd laughing with him.
SJR: So you've gotten the chance to see a lot of things develop during your time performing over the world?
Kailus Holmes: That's right, I've wrestled pretty much everywhere, wrestled for the biggest and best companies that were worth mentioning in the wrestling world, and most of them I won the World Championship from.
Bailey Tinsley: There it is.
She sighed.
Bailey Tinsley: This is where his arrogance shows through.
The annoyed audience member again turned around to silence the talkative pair, but Isaac leaned in close with his intimidating eyes, not standing for another second of it.
Isaac Marshall: Tell me to shush once more and I'll rip your head off and shit down your neck, got it?
SJR: So aside from the victories and the performance side of things, have you seen many superstars struggling with addiction?
Kailus Holmes: Well, yeah, but to tell you the truth, Sally, you get that everywhere you go.
SJR: So what addictions have you seen?
Kailus Holmes: Well I'm not going to name names here, but over the years I have seen so many superstars come in and walk right out because they are addicted to something or another.
SJR: Have you ever suffered from addiction?
A long pause from the Voice of Reason. Talk about putting him on the spotlight!
Kailus Holmes: Have I ever had an addiction?
SJR: Yeah. Have you ever been addicted to anything whilst wrestling?
Kailus straightened his back and cleared his throat, this was something very personal and he didn't want to come across as a person who casually tosses things aside.
Kailus Holmes: To be honest, Sally, I have had an addiction. I still do.
Bailey slapped her head in shock.
Bailey Tinsley: Oh God...
She gasped.
Bailey Tinsley: Tell me he didn't just do that?
Isaac was struggling not to laugh. He found this simply fantastic, better than a stand up comedian.
SJR: What were you addicted to?
Kailus Holmes: Before I go any further, everyone here has to realise that we wrestlers go through so much just to entertain you people. There have been so many guys that would take painkillers to fight through the problem of their injured ankle, or their broken rib just to go out for one more night, just for ten... twenty minutes to entertain and astound you. I've seen guys so worried about their weights and become so depressed that they take anti-depressants and steroids just to keep up with the guys that work harder in the gym, all because they are a fan of short cuts.
He adjusts himself in his set before continuing.
Kailus Holmes: But what I have, Sally, is something much more problematic. I have an addiction that is worse than anything that they have to put up with.
SJR: What is it?
Sally asked, truly fascinated by what Kailus had to say.
Kailus Holmes: I'm addicted to being the best.
What a disappointment it must have been for Sally. Her first show back and she thought that she would start off with a bang! Get an addicted future World Heavyweight Champion on the show and portray professional wrestlers as drug loving maniacs.
Kailus smiled as he continued.
Kailus Holmes: I enjoy each and every moment that I spend in that ring. From the moment my music begins to play, to the moment it stops on my exit. But what I love more is what happens in between. The destruction of one mans career, the breakdown of a limb that eventually forces the guy to give up and tell the world that he was not better than me and let me tell you something, Sally... I get that a lot!
SJR: Okay, well...
Kailus Holmes: And I'm addicted to becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Something that I intend on being at Legendaria.
Isaac continued to laugh, knowing now why Kailus decided to accept the invitation to Sally's show.
Bailey Tinsley: He's just here to cut a free promo, isn't he?
Kailus shot up and leant over Sally, security starting to close in on him.
Kailus Holmes: I know exactly what you think of wrestling, Sally, so I tell you what, at Legendaria, when I face Flying Diamond Cutter Man for the Championship, I won't wrestle him. I'll damn near execute the -BLEEP-!
The swearing was enough to top it off as the security guards moved in and began pulling Kailus away from Sally.
SJP: Get him away from me!
She cried as Kailus continued to shout.
Kailus Holmes: Cutter! It's just you and me now, boy! Nobody else! Nothings going to stop me from kicking your ass! Nothing! You hear me! That belt is mine! You sorry son-of-a-
