His head pounded as he sat slumped on a coffee table, taking a long and greatly needed toke on a cigarette before pumping his body full of painkillers.
The Kailus Holmes was not in a chipper mood.
"God my head hurts." He grunted as he forced the small painkillers down his throat, hoping that they would talk immediate effect.
"Why's that?" Bailey enquired, stretching her slim, slender figure upwards as she reached for a glass in a cupboard. "You've not been partying again have you?"
"No." Kailus replied with a straight and monotone voice. He rubbed his head as he attempted to massage the pain away. A vain attempt at best.
"So why you got a headache then? I guess all this stuff with Josh Eagles is beginning to get to you then, huh?"
"Josh Eagles?" Kailus asked. If it was one thing that Kailus hated being mentioned, it was Josh Eagles' name. "Two weeks."
He stood up. Pulling his cigarette from his hand and resting it between his lips he picked up his coffee mug and took a firm grasp around it's ceramic exterior. Suddenly, without word of warning, he performs a powerful baseball-esq swing, pretending that the mug was in fact a baseball, hurtling it across the room.
It exploded upon impact, shattering and spraying coffee upon the wall... right next to Isaac Marshall. Isaac smirked and looked at the stain on the wall, the free bulges of liquid trickling down the gloss painted support, making it's way down to the expensive laminated wood flooring.
"Nice shot." He admired the handy work as Kailus looked on, breathing deeply as his friend openly mocked his explosion of anger. "But you missed."
"Two weeks that piece of shit has been in my business now. Two weeks I've had to put up with that freaking loser getting himself involved in my matches, in my celebrations, in my backstage meetings everything."
"Calm down, Kez." Bailey tried to reassure her friend, but he wasn't having any of it. He stepped back from Bailey and looked at her with bitter eyes.
"Calm down?" He began to babble. "Calm down? I have a thumping headache! Okay? A pounding headache all because Josh Eagles is trying his best to get my World Heavyweight Championship!" Kailus began to frantically scan the room, looking for his prized possession. No sooner had he began his search he eventually located it. He grasped a hold of it and yanked it up, holding it high for Bailey and Isaac to see. "You see this?"
Isaac looked at Bailey as she looked helplessly at Kailus. She had grown concerned over his welfare, and clearly was not acting like himself.
"This... is mine!" He pulled it to his chest. "My belt! My World title! I don't care what match Nitro decides to put us in. Josh Eagles is not getting my World Heavyweight Championship an that's final!"
"Kailus, look..." Isaac stepped in, taking over the role of calming Kailus down from Bailey. "You have to chill out okay? You've got a match with Flap Flanagan this week and I really think that you need to take the focus off of Josh and start planning for that."
"Flap Flanagan?" He repeated, making sure he heard the name right. Isaac nodded.
"Flap Flanagan. The brother of Reck Maverick?"
"I know who Flap Flanagan is you one brain celled cod piece!" Kailus snapped back.
Isaac seemed a little shocked by the insult. Not because of the fact that Kailus insulted him, but simply because of the fact that he used such a strange phrase in order to do so.
"I am fully aware of who Flap Flanagan is and I am also aware of what he is capable of, which is precisely the reason that I am focusing more on Josh Eagles!"
"What do you mean by that? You've never faced him before in POW." Isaac questioned, and it was a point that was true.
"I was in other companies before POW, Isaac." Kailus reminded his Enforcer. "And one particular company I was in where I faced Flap, more importantly, the last place that I faced Flap Flanagan was Legacy Wrestling Entertainment."
"Rob Matthews old company?" Bailey asked, to which Kailus gladly smiled to. "That was years ago."
"Two years, if I remember correctly." Kailus confirmed the exact time frame. "Bailey..."
He turned to his long sanding female companion.
"You were there when I face Flap, right?"
"I believe so, yeah."
"So you of all people should know what happened the last time that I faced the 'almighty' Flap Flanagan, right?"
"Well..." Bailey began to respond but Kailus cut her off before she could finish.
"I beat him. I took on the so-called King of the Dr. Pepper Mountain and not only did I completely destroy him, to add insult to injury, I replaced his Dr. Pepper with Caffeine Free Wal*Mart branded Lemonade!"
"What the Hell are you talking about?" Isaac interrupted.
"Look, Flap can talk all the shit he wants and speak to Alf about whatever crap he likes but in all honesty, he knows that he doesn't stand a freaking chance."
"And why's that?" Isaac continued to question.
"Because he's going up against the Hardest Bastard from Bastardville. The man who ends careers because he can, the thirty time World Heavyweight Champion... THE Kailus Holmes!"
Kailus stopped talking as he began to blink rather strangely. Bailey looked over at Isaac as the Enforcer matched over to Kailus, catching him as he began to lose his balance.
"Woah, buddy." Isaac grabbed Kailus' arms and hoisted him onto the chair he once sat on. "Okay, okay, I got you."
"Man... what the Hell was that?" Kailus grunted as he rubbed his head.
"Okay, I'm calling you a doctor." Bailey announced and walked over to find the phone.
"I'm sure it's not necessary." Kailus tried to argue but Bailey had already walked out of the room. There have been many times that Kailus has argued with Bailey and managed to get his own way but he knows better than anybody that when Bailey puts her feet down, she means business!
"Look, we'll call a doctor, get you checked out and you'll be able to fight Flap without any worries at all, yeah?" Isaac knelt down beside Kailus as he tried to get a look at his leaders eyes. Trying to make a diagnosis in case the doctor enquired.
Kailus laughed for a few moments before trying to calm own so he didn't aggravate the headache.
"Even if I was dumb, deaf, blinded and had no limbs I would still be able to beat Flap Flanagan with one stump tied behind my back!"
Isaac smiled at the joke and rubbed his comrades shoulder.
"That's the spirit."
He was putting on a brave front. Even Isaac could see through that. Something wasn't right here... and they needed to find out what it was... fast.
