At some point after the events of Episode 2... We find Reid Flanagan and Jayde Nightwood - our collective heroes of this promotion - walking in some secluded part of the town... Suddenly Reid stops walking and looks around. Jayde crosses her arms.
Jayde - Reid, what are you doing? You've been jumpy all evening. What is wrong?
Reid finishes his visual search and moves over beside Jayde.
Reid Flanagan - I don't know... I keep getting this sinking feeling that we are being watched. It's disturbing.
Jayde - It's just your imagination... Probably just pre-fight jitters.
Reid Flanagan - Jitters? about Night...? HA! You are one crazy kunoichi - you know that!
She's right!
Both Reid and Jayde look around confused trying to pin-point the origin of the voice.
It is Pre-Fight Jitters... but not for some simple-minded moron named "Night..."
Jayde - Who are you!
Reid slides into a fight stance and his eyes quickly dart over to Jayde.
Reid Flanagan - It's him...
The DragonZord fanfare eerily echoes throughout the area as The Green Ranger emerges from the shadows - holding the Zyusouken up to the metallic lips of his helmet then slowly lowers it and places it in the black holster on this left hip.
Green Ranger - Very good Reck Maverick... Oh... and Ms. Nightwood - I'm glad that you've recuperated from our last encounter.
The Green Ranger releases a malicious laugh as Jayde sinks into a combat stance of her own.
Green Ranger - Touch a nerve did I? That's fine... It's not like you'll live long enough for it to matter.
Reid Flanagan - What do you want?
Green Ranger - What every great villain wants... to kill the hero.
Jayde tilts her head in confusion.
Jayde - Wait... That's it? You just want to kill us? That is REAL original... I should have seen it all along.
Green Ranger - You stupid bitch... My true motives are of no concern of yours. All you need to know is that I will win...
Reid Flanagan - You can't kill me Green Ranger...
The Green Ranger scoffs at Maverick's comments.
Green Ranger - And why can't I kill you?
Reid Flanagan - Because I'm the titular character...
Green Ranger - What?
Reid immediately charges at the Green Ranger with a flurry of punches The Green Ranger easily dodges and retaliates with a Uppercut to the jaw of Reid that knocks him back-wards. Jayde joins in the fray and leaps in with a flying kick that catches the Ranger off guard and causes him to stumble backwards... Jayde follows up her offense with a kick to the thigh and an attempted Sobat kick but The Green Ranger catches her leg and trips her to the ground... He then prepares to administer a game-ending stomp to the head when he is cut off by Reid who comes flying in with a spinning reverse elbow that cracks the Green Ranger in the throat and he temporarily falls to his knee and coughs a little as Reid helps Jayde back to her feet.
Jayde - Thanks...
Reid Flanagan - He's not done yet...
The Green Ranger quickly regains his composure and attacks the duo again, doing a vintage Green Ranger tornado kick that both Ninjas manage to duck, Reid responds with a roundhouse kick that is also ducked is countered with a punch to the stomach by the Ranger and a knee to the head that knocks Reid down... Jayde tries a leg sweep that is jumped so she lunges with a double punch - Her fists are caught by Green Ranger and he begins to crush her knuckles until she knees him in the stomach and deliver a standing Flash Kick that catches Green Ranger in the chin and the impact causes him to flip backward and land on his stomach as Jayde lands on her feet.
The Green Ranger is quickly back up on his feet and he is charging her again when Reid grabs him from behind and delivers a modified version of his Dragon Buckler. Since Reid didn't lock in the full nelson the impact puts the Green Ranger back on his feet only to be caught by a Shining Wizard by Jayde. Reid kips up and rolls over to Jayde who is holding her knee... since kneeing Helmets tend to hurt.
Reid Flanagan - You okay?
Jayde - Yeah...
Reid's focus turns to the Green Ranger who is coming to feet.
Reid Flanagan - Give it up... You can't beat us.
Green Ranger - Lucky shot... That's all it was... I'm not... finished... YET!
The Green Ranger pulls out his Sword of Darkness - The Hellfriede Blade and runs at Reid. He swings like a madman and Reid is doing all he can to avoid the blade. He finally gets a free opening and boots the Green Ranger in the chest hard and the Green Ranger stumbles back but is immediately back in the fight and swings his sword again, Reid ducks but is caught with a kick to the side of the head that sends him to the ground.
Jayde - RECK!
Jayde runs over and grabs the Green Ranger and tries to wrestle the sword out of his hands but the Green Ranger gives her a backhand shot to the face and goes to swing the Dark Sword when Reid hooks him in a half-nelson under the arm holding the sword and delivers a variation of a German Suplex but the Green Ranger flips out half-way through it and lands on his feet and kicks Reck in the spine spending him over to Jayde.
Jayde - Reck... He's too strong! We need to transform!
Reid Flanagan - No! I can take him... I have to take him...
Reid runs at the Green Ranger one more time and unleashes a whirlwind flurry of punches, kicks and other assorted odds and ends of attacks - Some connecting, some not. The Green Ranger manages to get a few steps away and he takes an overhead swing with his Hellfriede Blade... Reid somehow manages to catch it... The Green Ranger roars and tries to force the sword down but Reid refuses to give up even with his own blood running from his palms down his arms.
Reid Flanagan - I TOLD YOU... YOU CAN'T BEAT ME!!!
The Green Ranger lets out a slight chuckle...
Green Ranger - Who said I came here for YOU?
Reid's eyes widen in shock as the Green Ranger kicks him in the stomach and throws him to the ground and begins to run toward Jayde who is fumbling with her Ninjetti Buckler...
Jayde - Atomic Nin...
The Green Ranger kicks the Buckler out of Jayde's hands and it slides across the ground and The Ranger grabs Jayde by the throat... She tries to fight him off but he is cutting off her air... She falls to her knees. Reid sees this happening and begins to run toward them when the sight of Green Ranger holding his blade to Jayde's throat.
Green Ranger - One more step and she dies!
Reid Flanagan - Let her go you coward...
Reid can't see it but he KNOWS that The Green Ranger is smiling under that helmet. Reid figures that he could probably break the Ranger's grip with a shuriken but he fears he might hurt Jayde... This whole thing is familiar to his dream... not the exact same but similar. The Green Ranger points his Blade at Reid.
Green Ranger - Face it... you lost - and now I will take my prize MUHAHAHA! WELCOME TO YOUR NIGHTMARE... Hero!
With that The Green Ranger and Jayde both disappear in a cloud of green mist. Reid begins to breath heavily...
Reid - no...
Reid runs into the green mist trying to find something... ANYTHING that could connect him to those two... Nothing, but Reid notices Jayde's Buckler laying on the ground. He falls to his knees and holds the device in his hands. Tears begin to stream down his face.
Reid Flanagan - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The End... For Now...
