Lestat sits at his computer desk staring at his open laptop. He is wearing a white robe and a pair of socks. The screen goes black as his power saving settings kick in. Lestat sighs and moves his fingers on the black square that is the mouse. The screen comes back on and you can see that the only things open are Corel Word Perfect 12 and Winamp. Lestat sighs and clicks the play button on his Winamp, wanting to hear some music to hopefully help his mind. Lordi's 'Would You Love A Monsterman?' flows from the speakers. Lestat sits back in his chair and looks around the office.
“Why can’t I seem to focus? I need to start this book if I am to ever get it published. I know it’s a smart move but, it seems my mind is to busy focusing on my match this week. I have to take on the returning King Cobra and the new guy on the block Splinter. Why is it I get a triple threat match before Reckless Abandon? I can only imagine what it will be like at the taping if this is what I get the week before.”
Lestat sighs and makes the main focus on his lap top Corel Word Perfect 12. As if his writers block just up and vanished he starts to type.
The two dark-skinned men knew each other from birth and had done many things together, but on this night their plans would bring on more then they had ever thought. They exchange looks as they stand outside a tavern.
"Do you think this will work?" asked the taller man.
Shaking his head in disbelief his friend replied. "Yes, this plan will work. Now let’s go talk out the details." he states and walks through the door.
"I’m buying drinks tonight."
"Of course you will Carl. We won’t be drinking much."
"Yeah, I know. That’s why I’m buying." Carl says before laughing.
The two make their way to their usual corner table and have a seat.
"So, how shall we go about this?" asks Carl.
"Simple. We sneak up to the far left guard and ask him to help us on our escape. The upper world awaits us. There is no way he’ll refuse."
"But, Grute, what if he says no?"
"Well, then we take him out and steal his uniform." Grute says with a smile.
Lestat stops typing and sighs, knowing that this paragraph could change one hundred times before he is ever completely satisfied with it. He stands up and closes his laptop. The doorbell then rings, grabbing his attention. Wondering who it could be now, he makes his way to the door. He opens it and smiles as he sees Leyna.
"Come on in sis. What brings you here? I hope it’s not something bad."
"No, not really. I am just out and about. But now that you ask, have you heard from Silver?"
Lestat takes a deep breath and lets his sister walk in, closing the door behind her.
"No. I haven’t called him since I took him to the hospital. I figure I broke his leg, which I regret, but I was in such a dark place all I cared about was winning."
Leyna shakes her head knowing who else in SoC has turned to darkness in order to win a match.
"Lestat, please be careful. Look at what Showtime did to Shadow. Do you want to end up doing something like that to Silver, or anyone else for that matter?"
Lestat hangs his head while his sister continues to scold him, knowing that everything she says is right. He didn’t want to ever carve someone’s name in their back, or even hurt Silver. Silver was his partner after all and had always been like a brother to him. He hoped that once Silver was better he could forgive him for what he had done and that RoC would continue to be a strong force in Power On Wrestling.
"You are right Leyna. I will try to not do that again."
"Lestat, what do you know of Splinter?"
He stops and thinks for a bit.
"Leyna, I really don’t know much about Splinter. I do, however, foresee him being quite the pushover in the ring. I am a dual champion so there is no way he can stand up to my skills in the squared circle."
Leyna smiles, knowing for at least right now Lestat wasn’t in that dark place he was in when he faced Silver.
"And what about King Cobra?"
Lestat cracks a smile.
"What do I know of King Cobra? Well let’s see… I know he has faced Mr. Showtime a few times. I also know that when Showtime and I were fighting over Fire we teamed up. It was Showtime and Pickles vs. King Cobra and myself, so I have worked with Cobra before. Granted it has been some time but, I am still certain I will be able to read his moves, which in the long run will help me out."
"Won’t Splinter be looking for revenge on King Cobra?"
Lestat nods and smiles.
"Yes that will help as well. I shall let them exhaust each other out and then take the win."
Leyna grins and walks to the couch, sitting down slowly. Lestat follows and sits beside her.
"I am glad you have a plan. Let’s hope it works. Have you talked to Fire since you told Showtime about her bad move?"
Lestat hangs his head, knowing that Fire is more then likely furious with him.
"No Leyna, I haven’t. I figure she is quite displeased with me right now. I should probably call her up though.”
Leyna looks to Lestat, not saying a word. Knowing her intent stare, he sighs and picks up his cell phone, dialing Fire’s number.
"Hello?"
"Hey Fire, It’s me Lestat. I wanted to call and check up on how you and Showtime are doing."
"Showtime, is doing just fine. I, however, am feeling a little under the weather. I think I got the flu bug that’s going around."
"Oh, I am sorry to hear that. Hey Fire, are you mad at me for telling Showtime about your Purity involvement?"
Lestat looks down when he gets no response from Fire, thinking he has made her madder then he had originally thought. After a few moments of silence Fire responds.
"No, Lestat, I’m not mad. I am just hurt that you went behind my back and told my husband all of that. I was going to tell him once I had the mess cleaned up."
Lestat sighs.
"I am sorry Fire. Will you forgive me?"
"Of course I forgive you. I’m not yelling at you now am I?"
Lestat smiles and looks to Leyna who is grinning, knowing that Fire wasn’t even mad at him to begin with.
"No, you’re not. Thank you Fire. I won’t do that again. I promise."
"I know you won’t. So who do you face this week?"
"I take on King Cobra and Splinter. I am not too worried about Splinter and I am not going to underestimate Cobra. I am well aware how vicious he can be even with a broken neck. He has a weak point and I am sure Splinter will be gunning for it. If Splinter doesn’t then I will."
"Good. Don’t you dare let go of that Television Title. It either belongs in your hands or Showtime’s and nobody elses."
Lestat looks puzzled by what Fire has said.
"Not even Silver?"
A heavy sigh is heard from the other side of the line.
"He seems to have major issues lately. He is not on the same page, but when he gets back on the same page then I think he will be worthy of it."
"Ah. I see. Well Fire. I am going to go. Leyna is here for a visit and I wish to spend some time with her."
"Okay Lestat. Have a good visit and good luck at your match."
"Thanks."
He hangs up the phone looks at Leyna.
"So are you happy now? I called her and found out what you already knew. You could have just told me that she wasn’t mad at me, but no, you made me call her to find out. What a pain you can be sometimes."
Leyna smiles.
"It was better for you to hear it from her and not me."
Lestat and Leyna talk for hours as the scene fades to black.
