It's night time and we appear to be in New York's famous Central Park... But Reckless Abandon isn't for another week... We find our radical tandem of Reid Flanagan and Jayde Nightwood walking across one of the stone bridges hand in hand. They stop and look out into a small pond. Reid looks over at Jayde, and she returns the gesture while a smile. Reid takes a deep breath and reaches over and take her other hand... The sudden movement makes her jump a little bit but calm soon comes over her as she stares into his deep blue eyes.
Reid Flanagan - Jayde... I've had a lot of time to think over the last few weeks.
Jayde - About what?
Reid Flanagan - About everything really... but most especially I've been thinking about... about you. Jayde - You know that you mean more to me then anything in this world... I'm tired of the fighting... of war. Tired, of the never-ending chaos - I want to simply disappear in the night away from POW, away from this dual identity - simply be who I am and not this Ninja Warrior - I don't want it anymore... all I want is you. I... Love you Jayde. Please tell me you want to leave this and let us stay together forever.
Jayde begins to smile a little then she flings her arms around Reid, almost in tears.
Jayde - You don't know how long I've waited for you to say that Reid... I never wanted this - ANY of it! I only learned to fight and be a ninja so that I could be with you. Yes! Let's leave all this... All we need is each other!
They stare deep into each others eyes and the slowly move closer to each other... Suddenly a scream pierces the night and a blade rips through the chest of Jayde and she collapses into Reid's arms. Reid falls to his knees in shock... Blood is spewing everywhere... Reid looks up at his attacker - It's The Green Ranger!
Reid Flanagan - NO!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
The Green Ranger scoffs and pulls his Sword of Darkness from out of Jayde's back and she falls backward to the ground lifeless... She is dead.
Green Ranger - I'm showing you the path to your final destiny Reck Maverick... Go ahead, unleash your dark side!
Reid - still kneeling beside his fallen love reaches behind his back for his Ninjetti Buckler... but it's not there. Again The Ranger scoffs and holds up the previously mentioned Buckler.
Green Ranger - Looking for this... Hero? You don't need this anymore.
Reid Flanagan - How did you...? WHO ARE YOU REALLY!?
Green Ranger - Isn't it obvious? I'm... YOU!, I'm your shadow... The Evil that you refuse to accept is my life force! The more you deny your true self the STRONGER I become...
Reid Flanagan - LIAR!
Green Ranger - Really...?
The Green Ranger plunges his sword into the stone and reaches up to his helmet and unbuckles the snaps and removes it... Reid face shows a look of total shock as the true identity of the Green Ranger is revealed and everything goes white...

Reid sits up in his cot with a start... His body is covered in cold sweat... It was a nightmare - but... what did it all mean? He wiped the hair out of his face and threw the blanket off and swung his feet off the cot and onto the floor... He stared at the wall of his lair - breathing erratically... His eyes darting among all of the usually junk laying around. He reaches over and picks up his cell phone off of the nearby table. He opens it up and presses a few buttons then holds it to his ear...
Ring-Ring... Ring-Ring
Across town Jayde begins to stir in her bed... She blindly moves her hand around the end table looking for her phone - too tired to lift her head off the pillow. Finally she finds it and brings the phone to her ear and speaks.
Jayde - ...hello?
Reid Flanagan - Jayde! Are you okay?
Jayde groans a little bit.
Jayde - Reck...? What's the matter...?
Reid's heart slows down a little after hearing her voice... It really was just a dream.
Reid Flanagan - Everything is fine Kunoichi... I was just a little worried about you - that's all.
Jayde - We have a pre-tape interview to do tomorrow Reck... I'll talk to you then okay?
Reid Flanagan - Ok... I'm sorry to wake you. Sleep tight Jayde.
Jayde mumbles something incoherent and the line cuts off. Reid closes his phone and puts it back on the table and lays back on the cot - looking up at the ceiling... The sick images of his dream continue to repeat themselves in his mind. Finally Reid can't stand it anymore. He gets off the cot and slips on a t-shirt and pair of jeans and his sneakers. He grabs his trench-coat and his fedora off of the nearby coat rack. He places the hat on his head and throws on the coat... He reaches into one of it's pockets and pulls out his Buckler... He looks at it and tosses it up into the air and catches it a couple times before putting it back into the pocket and exiting the lair.
Sometime later Reid makes it up to the roof of the casino. He looks over the city - lit only by the moon and a few billion stars. He walks over to the edge and sits down, his legs dangling. He begins to talk aloud but to no one in particular...
Reid Flanagan - What the hell was that...
Silence filled the night again as the memories of the nightmare continue to repeat themselves.
Reid Flanagan - It felt so real... But it can't be real... I could NEVER do that to Jayde... I can't even think a bad though about her but what did The Green Ranger mean "Showing my path to Final Destiny..." maybe... he is right - maybe my Dark Side is starting to take over... NO! I can't allow that to happen... Not again. I have... to stay... in control for Jayde... Reiko... everyone that believes in me I can't turn my back on them... Never again.
Reid stands up and takes a deep breath of fresh night air. He steps down of the ledge and walks over to the door leading back inside the casino. He stops and look up into the stars on more time.
Reid Flanagan - I just need to be focused on what needs to be done right now... Jayde said I have an interview with her tomorrow - I'm fighting Night... Ironic in this situation... Then I got to talk with Reiko about that TV deal that I got coming up and of course Reckless Abandon... My first title defense.
Reid shakes his head.
Reid Flanagan - I'm getting ahead of myself again... First thing I have to deal with is Night... Should probably think of a few witty one-liners and various anecdotes for the interview... The fans seem to love those... Damn, I think I'm going to have to break out a 6 pack of the Drink of Champions now...
Reid laughs to himself as he opens the door and re-enters the Casino... A dark figure emerges from the shadows... the only thing we can make out is a golden chest plate.
Joke now while you can Maverick... Because soon it will be I that will be laughing... MUHAHAHAHAHA!
