So it would seem that with the events of the last episode that The Green Ranger has indeed followed our hero to New York City... does this mean that Jayde is here too? The scene shifts to a old run down warehouse... The East warehouse on Lairdman Island (Writer's note: One karma point to he who can tell me where that reference comes from) it is dimly lit but we can see Jayde Nightwood chained by both arms to the wall. She struggles and fights but she cannot break the chains.
Jayde - Damn...
Suddenly she hears a crash near a pile of old crates and she squints her eyes trying to see who it is... The Green Ranger stumbles into view still shaking his head from the cheap shot delivered by Casey Jones.
Green Ranger - Gr... That son of a bitch...
Jayde - HA! You got your ass kicked by Maverick didn't you?!
The Green Ranger looks over at Jayde and scoffs.
Green Ranger - Please... Don't be ridiculous! Your boyfriend couldn't even touch me. As a matter of fact if it wasn't for some moron in a hockey mask - Reck Maverick would be dead.
Jayde - ... You lie...
Green Ranger - Do I?
The Green Ranger holds the Sword of Darkness up to Jayde's face, showing off the blood that still stains it's blade... The Green Ranger doesn't mention that the blood belongs to a mere robber and thus the colour drains from Jayde's face.
Jayde - ...no... why? why are doing this?! Who are you?
The Green Ranger turns his back to Jayde and unclasps his helmet and removes it... He is a Japanese man with short black hair is a bit ruffled due to being inside that helmet. He looks back at Jayde and she again squints to see the face of the Green Ranger.
Jayde - I don't know who you are...
Green Ranger - Hm... I would not expect you to know who I am Ms. Nightwood... I know that Reck Maverick would never tell you about me... or what he did to my family...
Jayde - What...?
The Green Ranger looks down at the ground and plunges his sword into it. He then looks back at Jayde with pure hatred and rage in his eyes.
The Green Ranger - What do you think this is! Story time... I told you before - the reasons of why I do what I do are no concern of yours! All you need to know is the next time I see Reck Maverick he will DIE!
Jayde - Listen... what ever happened... I know that Reid has changed since then.
The Green Ranger - SHUT UP! YOU KNOW NOTHING! People never change... No matter how much you try and convince yourself that they are different... you know that somewhere deep down inside they are the same... and nothing... not love, trust, respect... ANY of it will change them. Your great hero is a fraud... and I believe you know it too.
Jayde - No... you are wrong... people can change.
The Green Ranger roars in anger and kicks Jayde hard in the chest and with no way to protect herself she slumps over.
Green Ranger - Why do you continue to believe such trash. Sooner or later you WILL be betrayed be him... and then you will be begging me to kill him... So I'll save you and everyone else the trouble... I'll kill him NOW!
Jayde slowly raises her head up.
Jayde - No... I won't... Let you... do it.
Green Ranger - Well from your current state I'd say you were in no position to do anything!
Jayde spits in the Green Rangers face. The Ranger goes into a frenzy and begins to brutally kick Jayde in the ribs and throws a couple punches to her face. He steps back with an evil snarl across his face. Jayde is as close to collapsing on the ground as her restraints will allow her. She spits up some blood and it hits the wooden floor with a splatter. She looks up with small trickles of blood running from her nose she cannot speak she is in too much pain... she can only whimper. The Ranger get right in her face.
Green Ranger - That's right you little BITCH! Whimper and know that the pain you are suffering is but a mere fraction of what I will do to Reck Maverick.
The Green Ranger walks back and pulls the Sword of Darkness from the floor and brings the tip up to Jayde's throat. She gulps hard and trickles of sweat run down her face but fearless eyes stare back at the man in green.
Jayde - Do it... You sick f**ker! I know Reck will avenge my death...
The Ranger lowers his weapon and an evil grin comes across his face. He pulls out his Zyusouken and get up in Jayde's face...
Green Ranger - No... I got plans for you... and as they say "Live bait attracts more fish then dead bait.
The Green Ranger lets over an evil laugh as we cut across the city as we find Reck Maverick on the rooftop of one of the various tall building that plague the NYC skyline. His mask is pulled down revealing his real face.
Reck Maverick - I failed again... I had the opportunity to stop the Green Ranger and save Jayde and I... I blew it... I couldn't even touch the Green Ranger in that last battle... I fell to quickly - What is wrong with me. DAMN IT!
Reck throws a shuriken across the roof and it digs into the ledge on the other side.
Reck Maverick - Why can't I overcome this foe... every time we have fought I got my ass kicked... This is more then just a random occurrence - He's got a personal reason for coming after me but... Why Jayde - She's never done anything to anyone... She's innocent...
Reck pulls out Jayde's Ninjetti Buckler and studies it. He runs his fingers down the contours of the device and he can't help but blame himself for all of this. Maybe if he hadn't volunteered to help the FBI that one time he wouldn't have met Jayde's father and him and her would never would have been introduced and she would be safe now... But it's too late for woulds and coulds - the cold hard reality is that he still has her. Reck falls to his knees and closes his eyes.
Reck Maverick - Master Kiyoshi... I need you to guide me through this... I... Can't do it alone.
Nothing... Reck opens his eyes and he realizes that he is alone in this fight... a wave of tiredness washes over him... It's been hours since he slept.. he needed to return to the hotel... Luckily he wasn't to far from the building we was staying at... He vanished into the night...
