Since our last episode our heroes - Reid Flanagan and Jayde Nightwood have made their way to the designated spot for interviews. Reid got lost a couple times on the way... The Aragon ballroom is a friggin' confusing place. Anyway they get there and now Jayde is doing some quick microphone checks while Reid fishes his 3 belts out of his duffel bags. He also grabs his patented BGG's and slips them on his face. He straps the "World" heavyweight belt around his waist and throws the other two over his shoulders - The Midwest on his right and the North East on the left. He stands up and walks over to Jayde. She turns to face him with microphone in hand.
Jayde - You ready?
Reid nods his head and Jayde gives Jimmy the camera man the ok to start filming. She holds the microphone up to her lips.
Jayde - Hello everyone! I'm backstage with the man who won it all last week at Reckless Abandon - Reck Maverick. Now Reck, I need to ask you first off - How does it feel to win the World Heavyweight Championship?
Reck Maverick - Well when I actually win a "World" Heavyweight Championship I'll answer your question.
Jayde tilts her head - a little confused.
Jayde - What are you talking about? You have the World Heavyweight Belt around your waist right now.
Reck looks down at the belt and grins a bit.
Reck Maverick - You know ever since Tito Capaci and FDCM unified the UWC and the... gag... UWL "World" belts WAY back at Supermania III I have been trying to tell everyone that this belt is not a REAL WORLD Championship. I said it when Diamond was champ, I said it when Kailus Holmes was champ... I wanted to say it when Josh Eagles was champ... but he wasn't champ long enough for me to say it... But THIS belt is not a World title... and as good as I am, it's still not qualified as a World Belt.
Jayde - So then what is it?
Reck looks at one of the belts on his shoulder, then the other, he then looks back at Jayde.
Reck Maverick - Well... seeing as how I am currently holding 3 championship belts... and that Mr. Nitro simply wanted my to abandon two of them... I'm going to hold on to all three of them and you can now and forever refer to it as the "POW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship." I'm doing this to be an egotist but it's such a shame to drop two prestigious titles like the POW Midwestern Heavyweight and North Eastern Heavyweight Championships in favour of a bastardized championship on one promotion that is dead - the UWC and one that SHOULD be dead - The UWL.
Jayde - Fair enough... How does it feel to be the POW Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion?
Reck Maverick - Pretty good as a matter of fact. I feels good to finally accomplish a major goal like this after 8 months in the company and knowing that I did it all myself... I didn't have to sneak in and blast the champion from behind with a steel chair to get my shot. I didn't win a cheap medal to become the contender. I did it the RIGHT way - I started on the bottom and week by week and slowly but surely climbed the ranks of POW. The partnership with Macros, the war I had against Murderous Entertainment, The best of 5 series, The Four Horsemen and the battle with the Royal Flush and winning the Midwestern Heavyweight Championship in that 2 out of 3 falls match were all stepping stones leading to this moment.
I wasn't blessed with the political stroke of a Josh Eagles or a Danny Danielson... To walk into a promotion and immediately start a program with the top champion... not am I like any of the new blood of POW that come in and their first match be a number one contenders match... No, I had to actually earn my spot in this company... No one else in this promotion can claim to have risen through the ranks like I did... No one...
Jayde - You mentioned Josh Eagles' name in that last statement. We also saw you somewhat shake his hand after the match at Reckless Abandon... does that mean you have let go of the grudge that you held since his return.
Reck Maverick - I shook his hand after that match because it was a hell of a match... no other reason. Everything I have said about him for the last little while still stands.
Jayde - How can you say that after Josh refused to use the chair that his wife brought into the ring.
Reck Maverick - You think that because he refused to use a chair on me ONE TIME that he's a brand new man? I don't know why Jeska brought that chair into the ring... whether shes as obsessed with this Triple Crown Championship as her husband is, or if I somehow pissed her off personally... I don't know but Josh "refusing" to use that chair is all a part of his facade... He thought he could beat me without it... but if the opportunity arises again in our next match... you can bet everything that he won't think twice about hitting me with that chair.
Jayde - That next match being at No Fear, you two going against each other for that W... Triple Crown title.
Reck Maverick - Yeah... You know Jay Nitro was VERY quick to sign that rematch - I can't put my finger on it but something struck me odd about that whole incident.
Jayde - Probably not as odd as your opponent for tonight... the first man you defend the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship against - The UWL World Champion and the man you won the Midwestern Championship from - Sensational Shawn Stevens.
Reck Maverick - Yeah I was wondering how long before ol' smiley came back to get his revenge. For so long he reigned as top dog here in POW... He had a hell of a run as champion but he lost some major cool points when he ran with his tail between his legs back to Jay Jefferson and the UWL when I defeated him. For a month Shawn hung around that second hand promotion defeating such "Big" names such as Jason Hunt and Rocky Simmons... No disrespect against those dudes - I'm sure they are great performers but they will soon learn of the legendary glass ceiling down there.
Well, actually Shawn did manage to defeat Rich Morrison so I do have to give some credit there. Rich was one of the only 3 people in this promotion to defeat me one-on-one in a fair fight - so I give props to Shawn for that one. But Shawn who you to come back to the Big Time and challenge the man that defeated you and took you championship... Is that really a smart move dude... Unless...
Jayde - Unless what?
Reck Maverick - B... T... E...
Jayde - Best Team Eva? The tandem of Shawn Stevens and Josh Eagles? What about them.
Reck Maverick - Isn't it a bit of coincidence that Shawn Stevens makes his "long-awaited" return to the POW the same night Josh is granted a rematch for my Championship? The smell of cahoots are in the air...
Jayde - But how's your brother Flap Flanagan - the reigning TV Champion factor into this since the him and Josh have formed an alliance called the "New Flanchise Players."
Reck Maverick - I don't want to believe that my brother could be involved in all of this but history has showed him to stab me in the back in favour of Eagles... he caused me two match against Josh in the past. I want to believe that he is now is own man... but unfortunately I must keep my eye on him.
Jayde - Do you really believe this or is this merely paranoia from being a champion?
Reck Maverick - You can refer to it under any name... The fact remains that something is going on in the world of POW... and it starts with Shawn Stevens and my Triple Crown Championship... I mean why is it that only MY title is on the line and not Stevens' UWL Championship?
Jayde - Probably a precaution from the UWL after the events in Canada last year.
Reck Maverick - Or is because Shawn knows in his heart he cannot defeat me and refuse to put his belt on the line to save face but you know what I don't care... The UWL Title isn't worth anything anyway. I will simply defeat Shawn and send him right back to UWL along with the rest of the slugs here is POW that hold allegiance to that company... Now as the champion my mission is to purify POW... and eliminate the scum known as the UWL.
Jayde - So in other words... Promotion wars?

Jimmy cuts the camera and Reid removes his sunglasses as Jayde sets down her microphone on a nearby table. Reid places his belts back in the duffel bag and throws the shoulder strap over his shoulder. He turns around and he is met by Jayde.
Jayde - Reid...?
Reid - Yeah?
Jayde - Do you really think that Flap could turn against you?
Reid looks away as he speaks.
Reid - I never really thought about it until get now... but Flap and I have... become quite distance lately... It could happen... I pray to god it doesn't... but it could happen.
Reid slowly turns his head toward Jayde and there eyes lock.
Jayde - He won't... Just have to believe in him.
Reid - I do...
Jayde smiles a bit.
Jayde - Really?
Reid just nods his head. Jayde leans up and kisses him.
Jayde - That good... if you can't trust family... who can you trust?
