The World went to hell in a handbag at Reckless Abandon... But at the end of the night the world belonged to none other then the Hero of The Story... The Star of the Show - Reck Maverick... He stood a top of the Wrestling Empire known as Power On Wrestling hold 3 of the most important championships the company could ever produce... And it didn't matter... More important things occurred to our Champion... He saved New York City... he saved Jayde and most importantly... he defeated the Green Ranger...
But True Evil Never Dies...
Welcome to the new Ninja's Lair... located in a secret location in Chicago... (It's no San Jose... But it'll have to do.) We find Reid Flanagan laying on his old beat up leather couch... one of the only relics he managed to secure from the old lair. He is wearing his MP3 player and is staring off into space... Deep in thought.
Reid Flanagan - It was too easy... The Green Ranger threw that fight and I can't figure out WHY? He had EVERYTHING going for him... There is more to this whole thing then it seems... He's planning something - but what?
At this point Jayde enters the lair and notices Reid laying there... She frown a little in response to the worried look on his face. She walks behind him and leans over top of him.
Jayde - HEY!
Reid's concentration is broken as he looks up at Jayde and a smile forms across his face. He reaches up and removes the ear-phones from his ears.
Reid - Hey yourself...
Jayde - Move over.
Reid groans and slowly lifts his legs off the couch and sits upright and Jayde walks around and sits down beside him. She takes his near arm and throws it over her shoulder and rests her head against his chest.
Jayde - What's wrong?
Reid looks down at her for a second.
Reid - Nothing...
Jayde - Really? Well you looked quite bummed for a guy that just saved a major city and won a World Championship in the course of the week.
Reid - I'm just worried about what he is going to try and pull next.
Jayde pulls her head up and looks Reid in the eyes.
Jayde - Don't worry... What ever he tries we'll be able to stop him... You know you can beat him now.
Reid - Yeah... You're right... I guess it's just in my nature to be concerned.
Jayde - Hey Reid...
Reid - Yeah?
Jayde - Do you have any idea what The Green Ranger was talking about when he was rambling about his family.
Reid takes a ragged breath.
Reid - I don't know Jayde - to be perfectly honest with you... I didn't some pretty heinous stuff back in my dark days... But whether or not I was capable of something as sick as The Green Ranger was saying... I don't know...
Reid looks down at the floor... His eyes racked with the all the guilt of the evils he committed so long ago. Jayde sits up and Reck's slowly slides away from her... he leans over in the seat, resting his forearms on his knees.
Reid - Was... I am really that sick...
Jayde reaches over and takes Reid's hand in her own. Reid turns his head toward her and brushes his loose hair out of his face with his free hand.
Jayde - Was is the right term for it Reid... Whether or not anyone - even yourself believes it you have changed... I mean if you were the "old" Reck Maverick would you have risked your life to save mine?
Reid looks back down at the floor - echoes of shame fill his voice with his next couple words.
Reid - ...no...
Jayde - But you did! That right there should be proof enough that your not the same monster you once where... and if you did do anything in the past to The Green Ranger's family... we'll find out and figure a why through it together.
Jayde smiles and Reid looks up again.
Reid Flanagan - We don't even know who he is... what he looks like... nothing!
Now it's Jayde who looks down at the ground.
Jayde - That's not entirely true... I have seen his face...
Reid's eyes widen.
Reid - WHAT!?
Jayde - Yeah... he removed his helmet in front of me when he held me captive in the warehouse. He probably assumed I wouldn't have lived long enough to tell you about it.
Reid - Why didn't you say anything about it earlier?
Jayde - I don't know...
Reid - It's okay. Can you... remember what he looks like?
Jayde - vaguely... I took quite a beating from him though... It's hard to remember a lot about those days.
Reid - Jayde... I'm sorry I couldn't protect you... I let him get you...
Jayde - It wasn't you fault! Reid... you HAVE to stop blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong! It was more my own fault then yours - I should have been paying more attention to what was going on. Even then it doesn't matter who's fault it was... all that's important is that we are both safe and that he is gone.
Jayde reaches over and grabs Reid by the chin and turns his head toward hers and she leans in and kisses him. Reid eyes close as he goes into a state of bliss. She pulls her lips off his and his eyes flutters open.
Reid - What... was that for?
Jayde - A simple reminder for you... that no matter what happens, who does what, nothing matter except for that... okay?
A smile appears on Reid's face as he nods.
Jayde - Now... we have to go.
Reid - Go?
Jayde - Yeah... to the arena... We have to do a pre-tape for your title defense this week.
Reid - Title defense... against who?
Jayde - Stevens...
Reid flops back on the couch hangs his head back and looks up at the ceiling.
Reid - You have GOT to be KIDDING me... after all that... The Dragon Zord, Green Ranger, The triple threat match, The move to Chicago, I have to deal with HIM again...
Jayde - Unfortunately yes.
Reid sits up and looks at Jayde.
Reid - Story of my life... lets go.
