Well after their "meal" the dynamic duo returned to the Batcave... likewise in Chicago our Radical Tandem returned to the Ninja Lair. Reid is now sitting at a desk working on what appears to be a set of gauntlets and pair of leather gloves that appear very familiar to ones wore by our heroes when they are doing their "ninja-ing" He is talking on a blue-tooth headset.
Reid - Flux Capacitor? Now you're just screwing with me damn it! Now, seriously tell me what the next step is...
Jayde walks into the main chamber of the lair draped in a white robe... obviously she had just come out of the shower. She walks over to Reid and she wraps her arms around his neck and leans into his ear - the one that isn't blocked by the blue-toothed gimmick and whispers...
Jayde - who are you talking too?
Reid - TN.
Jayde quickly slides down in the seat beside him.
Jayde - Put him on speaker phone!
Reid picks up his cell phone and presses a couple buttons and sets it down on the table.
Reid - You still there Tech?
TN - Yep.
TN... Short for Tech-Ninja - The friggin' genius that invented most of the high-tech gizmos that Reid and Jayde used... without him our heroes would still be using bamboo stick to shoot darts at their opponents - he also invented the Ninjetti Bucklers as well as the recent upgrades to the Reck-Mobile... basically this guy KICKS ASS!
Jayde - Hey TN!
TN - Who's that? Kitsune?
Jayde - That's right.
TN - How's it goin' Girl? I haven't heard from you since you left the academy.
Jayde - I'm good...
Jayde notices the cluttered mess in front of Reid and raises an eyebrow.
Jayde - Hey Tech... What have you got Reid working on here?
TN - Well I'm trying to tell Maverick how install some magnetic grips into your gloves.
Jayde - Magnetic grip?
Reid - Yeah...
Jayde turns her attention to Reid.
Reid - I want to put some grips into your gloves... since you use smaller weapons I'd figure if you had the grips you could pull them back to you if they somehow got knocked out of your hands.
Jayde - Sweet... So how's it going?
Reid - Hm... Not so good, I'm not all that good with techno stuff.
TN - Tell me about it...
Reid - Shut up Tech.
TN is heard laughing on the other end of the line. Reid looks at Jayde and shrugs.
Jayde - How come you can't do the mods TN?
TN - I can... Actually I have the finished models here in the lab... unfortunately none of our UPS-Ninjas go through Chicago so we don't have a way of transporting them to you.
Reid chuckles a bit.
Reid - I'm beginning to REALLY hate this city...
Jayde - You can't send it through the standard UPS?
TN - Do you really want to trust cutting-edge Ninja technology to a bunch of slack-jawed morons in brown shorts?
Jayde - Point...
TN - I'm going to get in touch with Administration and see if we can work out a new route.
Reid - Really?
TN - Yeah... Hopefully you'll get them by the end of the week.
Jayde - Cool! Thanks TN!
TN - Not a problem... Look I have to hang up now... I got other stuff to work on. Let me know how the upgrades work out.
Reid - Will do. See ya Tech.
Reid presses a button and the phone shuts off. He then surveys the mess in front of him. Jayde notices it too and smiles, she places her hand on his shoulder.
Jayde - Hey at least you tried... I appreciate the effort.
She leans in and gives him a kiss on the cheek. He reaches up and holds her gently on the back of her neck and turns his head and they tenderly kiss for a little bit. Finally Jayde pulls out and is blushing a bit.
Jayde - Wow... um... yeah, I'm going to go get changed... you should... um...
Reid leans back in his chair and grins.
Reid - Get ready for my match?
Jayde smiles and nods, she then stands up and walks out of the room. Reid watches her go. He thinks to himself that this was the first time his kiss really effected Jayde... maybe this positive thinking thing IS a good thing. He stands up and does some stretching... he had been sitting most of the afternoon. His knees were a bit stiff. He lifts one leg up and sets it on the table and begin stretching his leg. He repeats the action with the other leg. Next is walks across the room and removes his Blade of Legend from it's display stand and removes the sheathing. He inspects the blade and begins to swing it around - slowly at first but quickly picks up speed. He does a few fierce slashes and unleashes the ATOMIC FINISHING SLASH! He stops smiles and re-sheathes the Blade.
Jayde - Nice combo.
Reid turns around and sees Jayde - now dressed in tight jeans, sneakers, green tanktop and a denim jacket... Her visage is awe-inspiring to our hero as he spins the sheathed blade in his fingers and places it back on it's display. Jayde walks toward Reid.
Jayde - But your not having sword fight tonight... your having a WRESTLING MATCH.
Reid - I know... but sword play is fun... But of course your right... I need to prepare for this match... The most challenging match of my career... forget Shawn Stevens, Macros Vitruvious, George Duke... those wily veterans are NOTHING compared to the almighty WRESTLING GOD that is Lestat... Someone so brutal... so deadly that he LOST KING COBRA... who lost to MY BROTHER!
Jayde - Oh, don't you be getting sarcastic with me Reid... I'll kick your ass.
Reid ignores Jayde's comments.
Reid - I mean FORGET THE FACT that I am the Triple Crown Champion... I have to worry about a dude that what? Lost two belts in the course of 2 weeks? Jayde... I don't know if I can handle the pressures... I'm a nervous wreck - pardon the pun... my hands are sweating, I'm hyperventalating... I don't know if...
Jayde quickly darts in and hip-tosses Reid to the floor and she mounts his chest and pins his arms to the ground. Reid feigns struggling then lays still.
Jayde - That's how easily you can lose this match... Don't screw around Reck...
Reid - Okay... Okay... You win... I'll focus, I'll do my best. I will give it my all Jayde... Now please get off...
Jayde releases a sly grin.
Jayde - And if I refuse?
Jayde lowers her face closer to Reid's.
Reid - I'll...
She moves in even closer.
Jayde - You'll what?
Now it's Reid that grins.
Reid - I'll love you...
Jayde - That's not much of an incentive to get off of you...
Their mouths connect again in another loving kiss. Jayde sits up, letting go of Reid's wrists.
Jayde - Okay, seriously we need to go.
Reid - Yeah... and don't worry... I'll seriously do my best out there. I won't let you down... and that's a fact.
Jayde - You never let me down... you know that.
Reid - I know... but it sounded like a cool thing to say.
Jayde laughs and gives Reid another quick kiss as the episode ends.
