The scene opens in not the place one would think for a recent Josh Eagles interview in the LEGENDARY FLANCHISE CREW LOCKER ROOM, but instead in a musty and dark looking bar where Josh Eagles is sitting in a booth alone in the corner with a mug of more then likely stale ale in front of him. Through the past weeks Josh has claimed that he is going to turn it up a notch around the POW, but the loss of his son and now his wife seems to be getting to him no matter how hard he tries.
Last week Josh came out in a dominate showing, proving that he is not going to be taken lightly, but the question is slowly becoming what are Josh's motives, what is fueling him? Josh has expressed on many an occasion that he is doing this all for the fans, to finally prove that he is different, but is anger what is really behind it all? Maybe frustration ... did he take one step forward to becoming a new person only to falter and takes two steps back down the road to darkness he battled up from.
Josh slowly takes a sip of his ale looking around the bar, taking in everything with a quite and grim expression. This was all too familiar to him, the "Death Eagle" inside him, this was the same road he walked down once before ... the same road Reck Maverick and Flap Flanagan tried to pull him away from and failed, Flap refused to abandon Josh ... but Reck deemed him a lost cause and Josh allowed Reck to walk away.
Josh Eagles: The death eagle ...
Josh was whispering to himself, to nobody else but he remembered all too well this alternate persona, the one that tore apart the UWL and left nothing standing in his path, the persona that won him the UWL World Title for the first time, but left some many bloodied bodies behind, a persona Josh didn't want to have surface again. But there is was whispering in his ear, like a nagging wife begging for him to do something wrong, pleading with him to just drink that mug of ale and brutalize that first person he sees.
Josh Eagles: NO I AM NOT THAT PERSON ANYMORE!!!!
Josh's sudden outburst alerts the whole bar and they all stare at him, Josh leans farther back into a dark corner cursing himself and continuing to drink. All the time the voice whispering that he has nothing to lose, his son is dead, his wife has left him because he is not man enough to do what has to be done. One chair shot, one proof showing that he would have done anything to protect what was his would have kept her ... just one chair shot.
Josh was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't see the bartender talk to a rather large man, who happens to be the "bouncer" but is more just hired muscle who hangs around in case of trouble. So lost he didn't see the man approach him nor didn't hear him talking to him until he repeated himself for the fourth time with a raised voice that had the entire bar's attention yet again.
Bouncer: Are you deaf buddy? I said it's time to go.
Josh looks up at the man his eyes look distant and a smile flicks across his face for just a moment, but then he shakes his head and puts his head back down, cursing silently to himself.
Josh Eagles: Sorry friend, I would like to stay if you don't mind ... I will not have anymore out bursts like that, you have my word.
The "bouncer" turns his head to look at the bartender who raises his eyes and shakes his head no.
Bartender: He ain't staying Pete throw that lout outta my bar if he won't leave.
Pete: Alright you heard the man, let's go.
Pete leans in to grab Josh by the shirt and Josh looks up now with a grin on his face.
Josh Eagles: I wouldn't do that if I were you!
Pete: One of those are ya? That's it get your f**king ass outta here!
Pete reaches the rest of the way and grabs Josh by the back fo the shirt hoisting him out of his seat and placing him on teh ground in front of him.
Josh Eagles: Remember you were warned!
Out of nowhere Josh kicks backwards nailing Pete in the privates and as Pete keels over Josh spins around and knees him full force in the face and then grabs him under the arm and snapping his hips he hip tosses the big man onto a nearby table. The table crushes under the weight and Pete falls to the floor blood pouring from his nose groaning in pain.
Josh then turns around and manages to duck a wild swing of a bat being wielded by the bartender and sweeps his feet out from under him, the bartender falls backwards landing on his back and Josh flips forward coming down hard with the heel of his shoe driving it into the bartenders throat taking the wind out of his lungs. Josh gets up and looks around waiting for another challenger and see none look ready to take the challenge.
Then like being his by a brick wall Josh stumbles backwards looking around at what he has done, like he didn't know he did it. Josh whips around grabbing his coat off the table and running out the doors and into the rainy Chicago night. The rain lashes him as he runs trying to forget what happened what he just did until he final reaches an alley way and slumps against the wall and smashes his head off the wall a few times.
Josh Eagles: I can't let this happen!! This is not me, not who I am, not what I do anymore! I can't leave Flap I can't abandon my fans, the people deserve better then what I am, what I am becoming!
The thought of Flap and the fans of the POW seems to jolt Josh back to reality a little more. Flap has always stood by him and worked hard to help him and now when Flap needed him the most he was too concerned with himself. Flap killed Nicole, lost his TV Title, and now with Josh Eagles by his side would fight for the Tag Team Titles this week, Josh could not afford to abandon a friend.
Through everything Flap has been going through he has kept a smile on his face and battled back and it was up to Josh to do that same thing, the "Death Eagle" could not take over again ... he just couldn't. Last week Josh showed he was dominate, this week he wanted to do it again and add the tag team belts to Flap and his camp, he wanted Reck Maverick to know that come No Fear that he was a different man, a worthy opponent and this was NOT the way to do it!
