Lestat sits in his Mustang at a stop light. He takes a moment to rub his eyes having been up all night looking for Fire. He yawns and watches the light turn green and continues on. Once the sight of a Go-Mart comes into view he pulls over and stops at pump number seven. He turns off his car and exits.
“Where did she go? I have looked at all the usual spots.” he says.
He opens the lid that covers the gas tank and starts to fill his car.
“I even called Showtime up to see if he had heard from her. He assures me that she is okay, but I need to find her. This is something I must settle soon. She could be a great help since she has apparently teamed up with Reck in the past.” He rubs his chin before going on. “Hmm, I didn’t think of that, but I bet that is exactly where she has taken off to.”
He digs his cell phone out of his pocket and dials a number as he glances back at the price going up on the gas pump.
“Hello? Sis?” he asks.
“Yeah, I’m here Lestat. How are you doing?”
“I’m doing just fine. Is Fire there?” he asks her.
“Yeah. She is sitting here talking with me.”
“She is? Great. Don’t let her leave. I will be right over. I need to talk to her.” he states.
Don’t bother. She doesn’t want to talk to you and I’m not gonna force her to stay. I don’t want in the middle of this mess you’ve made.”
“She doesn’t? How can I apologize if I can’t talk to her?” he says, as he wonders how he can make Fire forgive him.
“I don’t know how you can apologize to her, but all I can tell you is she has just walked out the door.”
“What? You let her leave? Ugh. Fine ill go chase her down again.” he says trying not to get upset.
Lestat hangs up his phone and puts it back in his pocket. He gently squeezes the pump handle making it stop on an even dollar amount. He replaces the pump handle in its place and walks in. He looks around and walks to the area where the cold 20 oz sodas are. Looking for a moment at the different choices, he pulls out a Dr. Pepper and a Diet Sunkist. He walks toward the counter and gets in line. The person in front of him turns back and looks at him.
“You’re Lestat from PoW! It’s a pleasure to finally get to meet you!” the fanatic fan screams.
Lestat sighs.
“It’s nice to meet you as well, Miss.” he says with a smile, hoping he can make her day.
“I want to tell you I am sorry that you were having an off day and that you lost to King Cobra. It happens to even the best. So keep your chin up you will regain gold again. I envy you and Fire you are both so talented.” she says smiling up at him.
Lestat nods listening to her words has reassured him some.
“I am glad that you like both Fire and me. Have you ever been to a Power On Wrestling show?” he asks taking a few steps forward when the line moves.
“I have only been to one. It was on the 14th of September when you lost the Television Title to King Cobra. I was so sad. I thought for sure you would retain your gold.” she says.
“Yeah, I thought I would to. But, things happen sometimes for a reason. My loss has given me a chance to face Reck Maverick. I will prove that I am worthy of a shot at his World Championship title.” he says with a hint of confidence in his voice.
The fan girl takes a few steps forward and turns back around to Lestat who also takes a few steps forward.
“I’m glad to hear the confidence in your voice again. I know you will raise to the top and become number one soon enough. I really do hope you beat Reck Maverick, but I won’t get to see it. I didn’t get a ticket to the show this time.” she says with a small frown forming.
“I have a ticket in my car you can have. I bought it for my sister, but she doesn’t get to go. She has something important she has to tend to that night.” he says smiling to her.
“Really? Thank you so much!” She sits down a bag of chips and hugs him close. “I don’t know how to thank you.” she says.
Lestat smiles, saying nothing he hugs her back.
“Just enjoy the show weather I win or lose. Have a good time. That will be thanks enough.” he says.
She nods and moves away from him picking up her chips and going to the counter. After she pays for her things and Lestat pays for his they both walk outside. He walks up to his car and gets in the glove box. He digs out a ticket and hands it to her. Her face lights up with a smile once the ticket is in her hand.
“Thank you again.” she says as she walks off.
Lestat smiles and gets in his car. Once comfortable he turns the key in the ignition and takes off again. He drives some time before arriving at a small no longer used home. The house seems to be very unstable as if without a moments notice it could come crashing down. Around the home’s yard is a large brick wall enclosing the land. Lestat leaves his car on with the radio still playing. He takes the Dr. Pepper and Diet Sunkist with him as he walks quietly up to the gate. The gate appears to be slightly open. Cautiously he opens the gate and makes his way in. He glances around seeing a figure leaning against the far western wall.
“Did you think you could escape me forever?” he asks
“Actually, yes, I did. I guess I failed. I didn’t think you would think to come here.” the figure says.
“Of course I would. You told me you always wanted to buy this house and fix it up. Why haven’t you bought it yet?” he asks
“Because, I don’t think, he would approve. Though, after what he said last week I guess I don’t matter to him anymore.” states the figure.
“Oh, don’t be silly. Of course he still loves you. He is just self doubting. Everyone knows how much you two love each other. I know if you could you would’ve destroyed Big Ci so that he could win.” he says
The song on Lestat’s radio changes song and somehow seems to get louder to even be heard by both of them. He reaches the Diet Sunkist down to her. She takes it with a faint smile that quickly disapears.
“Yeah, I would’ve. However, he had something he had to prove. Now this week he takes on my friend Dan Harvey. I don’t know what to do. It seems as if the world is crashing down on me. Sometimes I wonder if there is an end to this pain. I am tired of being filled with sorrow and hate.” Fire says.
“Fire, take my hand you don’t have to cry alone. I’m here for you, because I understand. The world isn’t falling down around you. Mr. Showtime still loves you. So keep your chin up and trudge along. This world may be hard, but I know together Society of Chaos can make it. As long as we always remain friends, anything is possible.” he says reaching his hand down toward her.
She takes his hand as he helps her to her feet.
“Yeah, I guess you are right. There is always something to live for. Even if I cannot see it, it’s there. I have you, Showtime, Silver, Dan, and many others in my life who want me around.” she says with a smile starting to form on her face.
“That’s the spirit. Now why don’t you tell me where you have been and what is going on. And, Fire . . . ” he pauses a moment. “I’m sorry for the other day.”
Smiling Fire says “You’re forgiven. Well I went many places. I even went to Taco Bell where Reck and Jayde were. I didn’t even realize they were there until Jayde approached me. She tried to talk to me, but with so much on my mind I didn’t even speak to her. Which was probably wrong and I’ll apologize to her later, but I just didn’t feel like troubling anyone with my own problems.”
Lestat starts walking with Fire around the perimeter of the yard.
“Yeah, I think you should apologize to her later. I think perhaps you two could even, dare I say it, become friends one day.” he says as he reaches into his back pocket pulling out his wallet. He digs out a photo and hands it to Fire. “Do you remember that?”
Fire takes a deep breath and nods her head yes.
“Yeah. That was the picture you, Leyna, and myself were looking at. It’s the one of my family.” she answers.
“Will you tell me about your brother?” Lestat asks.
“Not right now. We should focus on your match with Reck. It’s going to be one rough match for you. Maybe even the hardest one you have ever been in.”she warns him.
Lestat nods.
“I am ready to learn this time.” he says.
Fire nods and walks back toward the gate with Lestat.
“I had Leyna drive me here and take her car back to her place. Can I ride with you?” she asks.
“Of course. Where shall we go? The Showtime gym, your place, or Armand’s Wrestling School?” he asks.
“Lets just go to my place. That way if Showtime is there we can have him spar with you some as well. You can never be to prepared.” she says with a smile.
Both of them get into Lestat’s Mustang. He reaches over and turns the radio down then drives off into the distance as the scene fades to black.
“Where did she go? I have looked at all the usual spots.” he says.
He opens the lid that covers the gas tank and starts to fill his car.

I swear I saw the sun black out that day
Thinking to myself there'd be no end to the pain
And I was so much like you, filled with sorrow, filled with hate
Wishing somehow I could find the strength to push down on the blade
Now with your body scream it out, grab my hand
You don't have to cry alone, 'cause someone out there understands
If you feel like falling down from forces all around
If you feel like there's no way out play this song and sing it loud
Thinking to myself there'd be no end to the pain
And I was so much like you, filled with sorrow, filled with hate
Wishing somehow I could find the strength to push down on the blade
Now with your body scream it out, grab my hand
You don't have to cry alone, 'cause someone out there understands
If you feel like falling down from forces all around
If you feel like there's no way out play this song and sing it loud

I spilled no blood but carry on with the stain everyday
I want you to know you're my saving grace
(yes) You my friend, reason to live, we are one in the same
Now with your body scream it out, grab my hand
You don't have to cry alone, 'cause someone out there understands
If you feel like falling down from forces all around
If you feel like there's no way out play this song and sing it loud
and say . . .
I want you to know you're my saving grace

May we all go marching on
May we all go marching on
And I'll keep on fighting
For people just like us
I marvel at the things our minds think
All the harsh lies that we take out on ourselves
When people tell you your selfish
Just don’t believe it, they cannot see it
May we all go marching on
And I'll keep on fighting
For people just like us
I marvel at the things our minds think
All the harsh lies that we take out on ourselves

And though we never, may ever get to meet
If you need someone to live for, live for me
And when you feel like giving up
Know that you have my love
And that's worth everything
'Cause you're worth everything
just say . . .
If you need someone to live for, live for me
And when you feel like giving up
Know that you have my love
And that's worth everything
'Cause you're worth everything
just say . . .
