Lestat stands outside of his Mustang with a smile plastered on his now clean shaven face. He wears a band logo tee-shirt, tennis shoes, and a dark red belt that holds up his blue jeans.
“I’m sure you’re wondering why I have a smile on my face after Dan Harvey barged into my place uninvited, sent by my friend Fire. It’s because I know he was only doing what Fire asked of him, but I’m going to find out exactly why she thought it necessary. I don’t always tell her everything. Leaving her out of the loop about my plans, however, may be what caused this intrusion on my privacy.”
His attention quickly shifts when he hears the sound of an approaching vehicle. Once the vehicle gets closer he notices it is a Silver Shelby. He takes a few steps away from his car toward the grocery store he is parked in front of.
“Ah, here she comes, late as usual.”
Fire parks her car in the parking space next to Lestat’s GT. She turns the car off and exits, locking the doors behind her. She smiles seeing Lestat and walks up to him.
“You wanted to see me?”
“Yeah, I have some important . . . ”
She cuts him off in mid sentence.
“About Dan?”
He glares at her.
“If you wouldn’t have butted in you’d know already. As I was saying, I’ve got some important questions to ask you. And, yes some of them are about him.”
She looks him in the eyes still seeming to be in a grand mood.
“What are they?”
Fire makes her way past Lestat to a concrete patio area where there are steel chairs and concrete tables. The area seems it is used by employees of the store to enjoy while on break or lunch. She examines one of the metal chairs to make sure no trash was left in the seat and sits down. Lestat shakes his head and follows her. He stands near a steel chair, looking down at Fire.
“First off, why did you send Dan Harvey to my home? I don’t know the guy. And, why on God’s green earth did you give him a key to MY home? I could’ve shot the poor fool, thinking he was a burglar, or even a rouge member of Purity. Did you think any of this through? Did you want Dan to end up hurt or even worse dead? Because from where I stand that is exactly what you were doing.”
Fire gets comfortable on her steel chair, and smiles up to Lestat. He sits down on the metal chair that he was standing near and looks at her impatiently, still waiting for an answer.
“I sent him to your place because I wanted him to talk to you. I thought it would do some good. As far as not knowing him goes, you will get to know him. I assure you of that much. Second, I gave him a key to your home because I knew you wouldn’t let him talk to you otherwise. I also knew you wouldn’t shoot him because he would knock before he used the key. Did he not?”
Lestat props his feet up on the table and leans back.
“Yeah, he did knock, but that’s not the point! I could’ve been sleeping. You know all too well what I am like if I get woken up. He’s one lucky man.”
Fire nods, watching him closely while trying to read his body language. She hopes he has not gotten to upset at her yet.
“But, you didn’t kill him, so it’s all good.”
Lestat jerks his feet off the table, planting them firmly on the concrete patio. This causes him to set bolt upright in his chair. He slams his fists down on the table with great force causing the once beautiful smile on Fires face to vanish. She realizes she may have pushed him too far.
“I could’ve!!!”
Fire shakes her head looking at the now furious Lestat.
“But you didn’t. Stop putting up such a fuss.”
Lestat stands up and pushes his chair back. The chair slams into other steel chairs causing a loud racket.
“I’ll put up whatever I want! You had NO right to send him into MY home uninvited!”
Fire getting aggravated with Lestat’s fussing stands up quickly, causing her chair to slide back. She slams her hands down on the table staring into his eyes.
“You had NO right to throw away the tag team gold, or the television title! The tag team gold was for you and Silver, hell it was for Society of Chaos as a whole! And, the television title was for you, and again for Society of Chaos! Do you not give a damn about Society of Chaos?! Within a matter of months you’ve lost two, count them, not one but TWO championships. You lost the television title to King Cobra, and you lost the tag team gold, to of all people, Nick Pickles and Bubba! I had to do something to pull you out of this obvious slump you’re in! Dan Harvey was the perfect choice, he is experienced in this business! I thought you’d at least listen to him! So, stop jumping my case! I’m not the one pointlessly losing the gold!”
Lestat pushes the chair beside him and walks around the table, looking down into Fire’s eyes, still furious.
“Don’t you dare talk to me about gold! The last gold you held was in BWF, and you have NEVER held singles gold! I, however, have! And, look at Mr. Showtime, he’s supposed to be at the top of his game. Does he hold gold? I think not. So, save your concerns for yourself and your husband. Stay out of my business!”
Without saying one word to Lestat, Fire turns around and storms off to her car trying to fight back the tears. She quickly opens the door to her car and gets in. She starts the car and drives off quickly. Lestat sits down on another steel chair and watches her go speeding off. Once he can no longer see her he places his head down on the table.
“I can’t believe she did that. I wasn’t in the wrong to attack Ryan Knight.”
He takes a deep breath and sighs.
~~~~~~~~
Hours have passed since Lestat and Fire had their little fight. He’s still sitting on the steel chair with his head placed on the table. A jet-black 1960 Thunderbird parks next to Lestat’s Mustang GT. Rose gets out of the driver side and locks the doors behind her. She looks around and takes notice of Lestat. With a smile she walks up to him. She places her hand on his left shoulder, hoping to get some kind of response out of him. It doesn’t.
“Lestat?”
The sound of a deep groan can be heard coming from the still sleeping Lestat.
“Wake up! The day is wasting away.”
Lestat yawns and sits up, looking over at her.
“So? Let it waste away. I have nothing to do anyway.”
Rose shakes her head and sits down next to him.
“Did you forget what today is?”
A blank expression crosses his face.
“Is it something important that I should remember?”
She shakes her head, unable to believe he had forgotten what today is.
“Today is time for you to make your way to the top! You’re facing Reck Maverick! He is one of the elite members of Power On Wrestling. You must take this chance to climb up the ranks. When you take him out you will gain even more respect from the other wrestlers, and even the fans.”
Lestat shakes his head.
“What is it with you and Fire today? I’m not on a downward spiral. I lost the tag team gold for a reason. I have a plan. Since, Silver will be out of action for a while and I didn’t want to work with someone like Ryan Knight. I have someone else in mind to team up with. So, soon enough I’ll be tag team champion again.”
Rose sighs and shakes her head.
“Think about this. You are facing the Power On Wrestling World Champion! What is tag team gold when you have a belt like that staring you in the face? I have no doubt that with the right partner you can regain the tag team gold, but think about your singles career. You have a chance to beat Reck and prove you are worthy of a title shot! Why not take it? Though I would like to know who you have chosen to team up with while Silver is away.”
“You will see in time who I have chosen. However, you are right. I need to focus on taking down Reck Maverick and proving I’m worthy of the Power On Wrestling World Championship belt. He is quite talented so I’m going to have to form a plan of attack.”
Rose nods and looks to him.
“You should watch his promo. I have my laptop in my car I will get it and we will watch it together.”
Lestat nods.
“Okay.”
Rose walks away and retrieves the laptop from her car. Lestat and Rose both sit down and watch the entire promo that Reck cut. Lestat shakes his head.
“Does he not think I’m a challenge? He doesn’t even mention the match we are having this week. I won’t be a pushover. I’m going to take everything I am to that ring and do my job. I will walk in that ring destroy him and walk back out without a second thought. Just in case I should go do some extra training. Wonder who I should train with.”
“Perhaps he thinks you are not worth his time. He would rather do his super hero thing then mess with the likes of you. Who really knows what he is thinking. Why not ask Fire to help you out? She is also talented. Heck you may be able to spar with Showtime because he is going to have to prepare with his match against Dan Harvey.”
Lestat nods.
“Hmm, after the fight Fire and I had, I don’t know if she will still want to help me. Perhaps I should approach Showtime first.”
Rose shakes her head.
“No you should go apologize to Fire and start there. You have always been closer to Fire then Showtime.”
Lestat sighs and stands up.
“Yeah I guess you’re right. I shall go seek her out. There are only a few places she goes when I upset her. See you later.”
“See ya.”
Lestat walks away from Rose, heading back toward his car.. He unlocks it and gets in, driving off in the same direction Fire had taken off in earlier. Rose smiles as she watches Lestat drive off.
“I hope he can get his head put on straight. He runs a high risk of just falling apart.”
She stands up and starts to gather the steel chairs, placing them around the tables in a neat orderly fashion. She sighs hoping Lestat is able to find Fire and fix things between them. She knows all to well how hardheaded they both can be when they think they did nothing wrong, or are in the right about something they have done.
“I’m sure you’re wondering why I have a smile on my face after Dan Harvey barged into my place uninvited, sent by my friend Fire.
