The scene opens in a packed theatre with a ring set up in the middle of it. We are at a POW Development show. The ring is empty. After a few seconds the opening notes of “Out ta get me” by Guns ‘N’ Roses starts to play over the speakers. After a while Big Ci steps through the curtain in a black suit and white shirt. He has the Valor championship in hand. He unbuttons his jacket and walks down to the ring. He climbs the steps and walks to the corner of the ring, taking a microphone. He walks back to the centre of the ring and looks around at the crowd. They are psyched. After a few minutes of basking a little in his fan adoration, Ci speaks to the live audience.
You know… it amazes me the number of times I have wrestled an opponent who is in denial… who refuses to accept things… who shirks the issue at hand. Shadow couldn’t accept that I kicked his ass time and time again… George Duke couldn’t accept that I beat him and took his championship… and now I find myself against Flap Flanagan.
The fans jeer at the sound of Flaps name
Little 155lb… 5 feet 11 inch, Flap Flanagan. Now whilst no argument could ever be made that Flap Flanagan isn’t a tremendous talent and whilst I know that he will do his damnedest to walk out with my belt on Friday night, Flap is also in denial… Flap also cannot help but try and divert attention from the issue at hand.
Now what I mean by that is this. Earlier in the week Flap Flanagan decided to come out in front of a global audience and talk about my “Sexual Prowess”. Flap are you lacking a brain you stupid S.O.B? Friday night is not about my sexual prowess… which by the way is unparalleled in contemporary human culture. This week is about me, you and Jason Coughlin climbing into the POW ring on Friday night and tearing the house down. This is about you, me and Jason Coughlin fighting tooth and nail for the Valor Championship. But… but…. More importantly, and indeed more accurately than that, this is about me walking into the ring on Friday night as Valor champion. This is about me walking out of the ring on Friday night Valor Champion. This Friday night is about me doing what I do best week after week after week… kicking ass when it matters… and walking out with my title. That… Flap… is what this week and what every other week is, was and will always be about.
Now as far as your scare tactics go… been there, done that. You think you scare me with all your talk about private hospital rooms and ambulances? You think you scare me full stop? Trust me Flap… recently the only thing that has scared me as far as you’re concerned is wrapping my hands around you scrawny little neck and not being able to stop myself after the bell has wrung. But I’m sure I would be able to. You see because I don’t want to hurt you… I don’t want to kill you… i want to beat you. You see because despite your claims to the contrary… I have talent Flap… bags of it infact. Your interviewer friend said it best when he said that I was “the Best Valor Champion POW has ever had”. I am better than Duke and better than Erickson… and this week I will be better than you. This week I will beat you… and that’ll kill you more than any man ever could. And you have only yourself. You should have taken a leaf out of our opponents book. Jason Coughlin has been quiet throughout all of our war of words as of late… perhaps he would rather his actions do the talking when we get to No Fear. Well regardless of whether he does or not… the fact remains that I will beat his ass as well.
So Flap Flanagan… Jason Coughlin… be prepared. This week their will be no trepidation… no anxiety… NO FEAR. There will be only one thing… Me with my hand raised in victory, the Valor title around my waist. Big Ci… over and out.
Ci drops the mic and exits the ring as “Out Ta Get Me” kicks back in. He heads up the ramp. At the top of the stage he turns around and pumps up the crowd, yelling things out to them. He raises the title above his head before disappearing behind the curtain.
The scene fades out
End of promo
