The scene fades into a lackluster affair;
a casino, so many loud noises and flashing lights, for the time being catered to no more than a dozen senior citizens and other lonely barflies.
Early morning card-sharkin.
Reliving the glory days, if you will.
At a lonely cocktail table sits POW's very own Stephie Campbell, looking tired, curious, and a bit disgruntled all at the same time.
She checks her watch, 6:35 am.
Grumpily, she gets up to leave.
However, she doesn't make it to the door of the casino, which would undoubtedly lead her to her hotel room and her awaiting bed.
Instead, she stops to watch a game of Blackjack being played by two old men and one Mexican w/ a deep scar along his jaw.
A quick exchange between the three and the dealer:
contemplation
hit me
hit me
contemplation
stay
hit me.
A grumble from the two older men and a big smile from the Mexican signals the end of the hand.

Stephie: Enrique!
Enrique Alvarez looks up w/ a start and nearly falls out of his seat.
Regaining his composure, he collects his chips and approaches the young lady.
Regaining his composure, he collects his chips and approaches the young lady.
Enrique: Stephie, Stephie, thanks for showing up, thanks a lot!
Stephie: You know, I've been waiting here for more than half an hour. We had an appointment for six, remember?
Enrique: Yeah, that... I kinda got a bit... preoccupied w/ these nice gentlemen.
Enrique gestures to the table where he was sitting, where the two men now seem to be quite pleased to be relieved of Enrique's presence. Alvarez guides Stephie Campbell to another table where they can sit and chat quietly.
Enrique: Before you say anything, I want to apologize for... er... for my behavior last week. I was out of line, and I wanted to make it up to you.
Stephie: Okay. Fair's fair.
Enrique: Alright. Good. Now, how would you like to get things off on the right foot w/ another interview?
Stephie: Well, that's why I'm here... at 6:45 in the morning.
Enrique: Alright, excellent!
Stephie: One thing first.
Enrique: ?
Stephie: Well, you don't have your mask...
Enrique: Yes, of course!
Enrique pulls a mask out from inside his jacket and quickly puts it on. Stephie looks to her cameraman and makes sure that everything is ready.
Stephie (looking to the camera): Hello folks, Stephie Campbell here, live at the Hampton Beach Casino where POW: New England will soon host its next event: The Road to Red, White, and Bruised. I'm joined by POW:NE's own Toro Verde, fresh off his win against Mick Cormac. Well Toro, how does it feel to finally be the victor in singles combat?
Toro Verde: Well Stephie, it feels wonderful. I feel like I'm finally living up to my potential here in POW.
Stephie: And it appears that Randall Lovejoy has taken notice. He has set you up one-on-one against the former Mid-Atlantic Champion Eddie Buchalini Jr.
Enrique: Yes, he certainly has. I want it made known that I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Buchalini. However, these last couple of weeks, he hasn't been bringing his A game, and that's what cost him the championship. It seems that his stock is falling, while mine is only rising, which puts me in a wonderful position.
Stephie: And what position would that be?
Enrique: Well, it's quite simple, Ms. Campbell. It is now my responsibility to show the fans and the management what I'm capable of, against a former champion no less. It is my responsibility to conquer Eddie Buchalini, to leave him lying in the middle of the ring, to destroy his career.
Stephie: Are you sure that's necessary?
Enrique: You are so naive, Ms. Campbell. Oh course that's necessary. We are a part of a warrior's society, and to succeed in a warrior's society, one must be ruthless. I am going to prove to the world that Eddie Buchalini's time is finished, and mine has only just begun. Now, if you'll excuse me, Ms. Campbell, I'm going to teach these geezers how to play some cards.
Toro Verde walks off, leaving that perpetual feeling of confusion and unease. Even though she accepted his apology, she is not quite sure if her feelings for Enrique Alvarez have changed much at all.
