"Have I once in my entire life felt so ready for a match? Have I once in my entire life been ready to take up arms against an up hill battle that places me surely as the underdog? No... I come up against a man who is easily one of the best pure wrestlers in the world, one of the only men whom I hold respect for and I am finally scared and thrilled all at the same time. I finally feel that chill go down my spine and that tingle of in ring anticipation that every wrestler dreams of feeling. But is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
Am I ready for this match yet... am I ready to wrestle the most grueling match in the history of wrestling... is the world ready to see Macros vs Eagles? Normally I would scoff this match off and say it was a no sweat match and pull all those classic tricks to get inside Macros head... but now I find myself compelled to play fairly to fight with honor and respect... I feel that I owe it to him... I need to win this fight and I need to do it by myself in a fair manner, I have something to prove in this match"
The scene is lit up by a sudden glare in the darkness, as the sun glances off the camera lens that is catching Josh Eagles as he slumbers in what is looking to be a very fitful sleep. AS the newly risen sun glides across the slumbering face of Josh he pulls the covers over his head and rolls in the opposite direction opening his eyes a bit to cast a glance at his alarm clock.
6:17 AM
The red letters burn into Josh's eyes as it is so early and he has nothing to do today, nothing he wants to do anyway other then more training. His body ached more then ever as he found himself pushing new limits since the disapperance of James Gagne the POW Head Trainer... who had been training him for his match with Brian Lee... the match that was to be held only just tomorrow... barely 24 hours away. Yes his mind was not with Brian Lee today, nor with Reck Maverick and the unfinished Best Of 5... but instead with his opponent for POW NE: Big Bang... their debut DVD Taping and the place where Josh new the toughest match of his career would take place.
But all of the could wait at least one more hour and Josh rolled back over pulling the covers right over his head to block out the light and try and get some more sleep. But sleep was not going to be allowed for Josh today as a knock on his hotel room door awakens him. Josh sits up in his bed groggily and throws his feet over the side, his blood shot eyes staring tiredly at the door. He grabs a pair of jean shorts off the floor, which happens to be messy and covered in various clothing and slides them on over his boxers and heads to the door.
He opens the door and a has to look up as a tall man stares back at him... a man many in the wrestling world would know as Vincent Varillion. Josh smiles a little bit and motions for the tall cloaked figure to enter the room. Vincent, who is actually Josh's star pupil enters the room and moves to a the window and shuts the blinds all the way plunging the room into a state of grim light. He then turns to Josh and reaches into his cloak and pulls out a tape that he tosses onto the bed. Josh looks at the tape on the bed then back to his student.
"Is this what I asked for?"
Vincent merely nods but does not say a word. Josh smiles broadly and then runs over to the bed and grabs the tape then places the tape in a VCR and turns it on, then turns the TV on. The tape seems to be of a training session with Macros. Josh's eyes are instantly drawn to his upcoming adversary and stunned to see that he had fallen out of shape, but none that suprised since Macros had a manager like Riley who only rode your ass when there was something in it for him. But none the less Josh studied Vincent closely watching the whole tape through then shutting it off.
But as he shuts it off Vincent steps forward and hits rewind on the tape and points back to the screen. Josh and Vincent had been together long enough now they had a wordless bond and he knew that he was being told to watch more closely. So Josh again hit play and this time payed attention to everything but Macros. He then spotted another man he knew well Mark Optiman, another wrestler Josh respected though not nearly to the same degree. He noticed that James Gange was there... which explained now where he had gone off too.
But what caught his eye was the totally relaxed look that all men and also Riley, the very keen manager of Macros had on their faces. Josh watched closely as the three of them spoke trying hard to read their lips a trait he had learned so he could scout people from a distance better and a look of shock crossed his face. He stopped the tape and rewound it so he could watch it over and looked even closer at the conversation between the men.
Josh then stopped the tape and cast a glance at Vincent who knew Josh had read what he had heard and just nodded that he was not mistaken... NOBODY had told Macros who he was to be facing... he was going to be coming to Big Bang, coming to New England and enter this match blind with no idea who or what was coming his way. They thought it would be a build up squash match of some sort... not one of the matches that both he and Josh had dreamed about for so long.
"That means that Macros had yet to see my last interview, my promo that would introduce them to the match... Macros was being trained to fight what they thought was EASY competition... surely knowing me as well as they do they would not take me lightly... not with Gagne who has trained me for weeks now there as well!"
These thoughts all ran through Josh's head at a fast pace and he glanced again at Vincent whose face was stoic and mostly covered in shadows anyway, but Josh could sense the confusion in Vincent.
"I know what you are thinking Vincent! You can't understand why I look so upset and to be frank... I cannot either! The old me... the actual me would be happy at this news, would have then gone out of my way to keep news of this match up away from my opponent... heck I would have even gone to the lengths of flying out there to help him train for his next match... misleading him and sending him in the wrong directions... but I can't seem to do it this time.
How long have we known Macros? How many times have you teamed with him to achieve victory and faced him in that ring for the toughest matches of your life? Many Vincent and now the time has arisen where I could have a chance to do that same thing and I do not want this match to be tainted!"
Vincent nods at Josh, but not a nod of agreement, a nod of approval... then he does something that is not characteristic of Vincent Varillion... he speaks.
"I understand your frustration Josh. I have battled Macros in that ring and he is a man of honor a man worth challenging and fighting! A man who you must want to be on honest terms, but it is THEY who are not taking the time to approach this match in the right way, when you taught us all much better and Riley knows much better... is this not a lesson they should learn?"
Josh paused a moment to think about the words that Vincent had spoken. He was right, Josh would have imparted more knowledge then that upon Macros and Riley was a man who knew much better then that... so should he find away to contact them and tell them... or should he let them learn the hard way.
"Should it be in the interest of fairness or should it be in the interest of learning? This... I will have to sleep on!"
Josh turns to go back to bed, but Vincent grabs him by the arm and shakes his head no.
"Oh, training... right... I am all over that... ONE MORE HOUR PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?"
Vincent just shakes his head as the camera cuts out.
