The scene begins to fade in from a dull black colour to the carpark of the Cabot Arena, Boston Massachusetts the home of the first DVD Taping Big Bang brought to the public by POW and it’s latest territory roster, POW New England. Though the actual Big Bang presentation was not until another two days a gathering of fans had come to the carpark for a small rally and the chance to meet and greet their favorite POW New England wrestlers. The camera zooms out from the Cabot Arena to the scene before the entrance where a couple of hundred fans of both the New England & Midwest territories start to go nuts while they are lined up for the autograph session and having the rare chance to actually see some of their role models make their arrival mere meters away. The camera then focuses in on a single dark haired young lady probably in her early twenties, the recognizable POW logo can be made out printed both on here backstage pass clipped to the top of her blue hip hugger jeans and the black microphone in her right hand. Noticing that the camera is on air the POW Head Interviewer Stephie Campbell puts on the sexiest smile the gem could pull out.
Stephie Campbell: Hello and welcome to the fan rally outside the Cabot Arena in Boston Massachusetts. What a turn out we have already had here today, with both the fans of POW New England and POW Midwest fans that have made the journey getting the chance to meet and greet the very men that will be wrestling in the ring as we count down to the biggest night yet in the POW NE territory. As we are now counting down from the 48 hour mark some of the POW wrestlers have been coming in and out of the Combat Arena signing autographs as they make their way inside to familiarize themselves with their surroundings for the DVD Tapings.
Already tonight I have had the opportunity to interview some of the men that find themselves in title contention this week, JR Zevon, Mick Cormac, Orge Lambart. These are just some of the names of the men that can achieve title and records here tonight if they can get the job…
Stephie is interrupted as the squelch of a speeding cars tires coming to an abrupt halt, the camera swivels around just in time to see the driver of a small blue rusted mini open the squeaking door and step out to reveal himself as the self proclaimed “manager of champion” Riley. As he struts around the hood of the car some of the fans lined up for the autograph session yell out his name only to get a trademark look of disgust from the manager before he opens the passenger side door of the small mini. Exiting draped in a large red tunic constructed from a variety of shaded materials is the former POW Midwest wrestler, Macros Vitruvious, as he exit’s a look of surprises crosses the face of Riley for an instant as a very large majority of the POW Midwest fans present started to cheer for his legion soldier.
Stephie Campbell, hearing the cheers of the fan base in the background, comes to the conclusion that these men must be wrestlers traded from the POW Midwest brand. But she could not put a name to their faces, after all she had only been in the head interview for a short time, the task of memorizing the Big Bang match card had already proved to be a difficult one…she couldn’t be expected to visually memorize each wrestler.
The manager known simply by his family name, Riley, looks around at the fans cheering for his legion soldier. Obviously his client had already one over the majority of the populace that would be standing within the crowds come the time of the DVD Taping. As his eyes pan around the Cabot Arena carpark they instantly come to a quivering rest on what looked like a female interviewer for the POW and a camera standing at her heels, with a mischievous smile on his face the POW manager placed his arm on the shoulder of his client and started to walk towards his favorite pastime from his own wrestling career…an interview.
As the duo come within talking distance of the POW interviewer, Stephie Campbell, she turns to look at the two while addressing the camera.
Stephie Campbell: Ladies and Gentlemen I am joined join a this time by…
A look of confusion crosses her face as she struggles to think of the names of these men, perhaps she could guess their names from the match card was what she was thinking. As if on cue one of these un-namable men to her mind placed his left hand over the one in which she was holding the microphone, with surprising strength he pulled the microphone towards his face, adjusting the cream coloured tie around his neck and pulling his free hand up under his black suit to rest on his waist he started to speak to those whom may be listening.
Riley: Let me guess little lady, ya are at this present time straining ya mind to find even a single one of our names?
Not waiting for the Stephie Campbell to answer Riley looks from the backstage pass clipped to the waist of the interviewer back up into here eyes.
Riley: Well Miss. Campbell there is no need for ya to try and remember for I doubt that our names even made the news around here. In fact I can vouch that our names and the news of return to the ring were nothing but whispered rumors among those people within the Power On Wrestling, for whispered rumors were all I heard Miss. Campbell. But do not fret Miss. Campbell for all ya have to do is place the microphone before my mouth and I will proceed to do the rest, for conducting interviews are what I do best.
But now, the time has come for my introduction to the world of POW New England. My name is Riley, manager of champions within the world of professional wrestling. I am the one and only man that can take the simplest of wrestlers and build him into a 6 month reign as an X-Division Champion. I am the one that can take a man shunted from his community and build him into an undefeated submission machine. Every wrestler in which have signed their contracted into my hands have felt the solid feeling of leather strapped around their waist on more than a single occasion.
My most impressive client that stands before ya today made his debut within the POW at the Midwest’s Road to First Rights (2-15-07) after a career never seeing the tarnish of a defeat upon his singles career record, from the day he made his debut in the POW he made an impact racking up an impressive winning streak of 5 matches to secure himself a POW Valor Championship opportunity. Unfortunately due to the “Behind the Scenes” complications with the Midwest owner Tito Capaci, my clients mind was elsewhere in his Valor Championship match…hence the reason why he suffered his first ever career loss and soon after both my client and myself found suspension contracts with our names printed upon them. But none the less the POW a month down the track set up another territory, this territory, a territory which would need quick rating and quick money to show Tito Capaci that they are worthy of the POW name. Hence the time in which my managerial skills found a loop hole within the conscious of the owner of POW, Tito Capaci new that there was only one man that would be able to boost his New England ratings like no other could. And that man is my client…The Legion Soldier… Appius Macros Vitruvious!!!
The manager Riley yells the full name of his client, Appius Macros Vitruvious, at the top of his lungs…his is echoed as the fans lined up in the background mimic the introduction. Stephie Campbell pulls the microphone from the grasp of the now distracted manager and has the chance to ask her first question.
Stephie Campbell: So then, you client is Macros Vitruvious. So how has your client been preparing for his first POW New England debut wrestling bout against Josh Eagles.
Before the manager could grasp the microphone and manipulate it himself Stephie motions it towards the mouth of the manager determined to get the answer from the only question she needed an answer from. Surprisingly no answer came quickly from the mouth of the manager, instead the man leaned back with his head to the sky and opened his mouth to let out a great cackle of laughter.
Riley: Ya know Miss. Campbell I should thank ya, I haven’t had a laugh like that for ages. But seriously now, if it so happened that ya actually knew the real Josh Eagles then you would also know that he has been out of action for quit a while. Ya could say that he’s given the wrestling career up. Ha-ha, now seriously I wouldn’t mind you telling me whom my clients real opponent will be.
Stephie Campbell: As a said before, your client is scheduled to face off against Josh Eagles at Big Bang.
Riley’s face goes to that classic and trademark look of disgust as he surveys the young girl, the mere thought that she would have the nerve to lie to his face and continue this joke was completely insulting to the manager. As Macros prepares to verbally lash out at the young interviewer, as if on queue the line of fans behind the manager move forward. A group of fans walk past the scene wearing black t-shirt with the text “Josh Eagles” across the front and chanting the name of their favorite wrestler. As the chants of Josh Eagles carries through the air towards the manager of the legion soldier, the trademark look of disgust disappears from his face and instead is replaced with a look of complete shock.
Stephie Campbell: Once again Riley, I would like to know how your client has prepared for his upcoming match against Josh Eagles.
Riley: Prepared…yeah…of course my client is prepared for any competitor, whether that man be Josh Eagles or not. But I will admit that this new droplet of information does change our current game plan, so fortunately we have 2 days to continue with our preparations. Ya see this match is not just your every day regular match-up, this match is all about the Mentor vs. The Student, for this is not the first time in which Josh Eagles and the legions soldier have crossed paths. In the past Josh Eagles has found himself owning the contract of Macros Vitruvious, as my legion soldier was a part of a promotion run by Josh Eagles himself. After destroying all the competition in which his then owner Josh Eagles had placed in his path, Macros found himself in front of Josh Eagles as the owner wrapped the PSW Pure Wrestling Championship around the waist of the legion soldier. But when that promotion lead by Josh Eagles fell through we moved on together back to the federation the made Josh Eagles the legend he is today, Universal Wrestling League. Once there Macros continued on his path of victory and leaving only destruction, while at the same time picking up tip and hints from the legend himself Josh Eagles as they regularly wrestled both at the same event and even at some point in the same tag team.
Ya see Miss. Campbell, it’s not in anyway my client that needs the preparation. Ya see my client has been prepared for this exact match-up since he first met Josh Eagles, why else do ya think that Macros insisted to stay and watch those main events that Josh was apart of even though his match had ended so early in the night. For both I and my client knew that the day would come when we found that Josh Eagle was the man standing opposite the ring ready for a fight. But ya must understand, Josh Eagles has never experienced the aggressive wrestling style of Macros Vitruvious. Josh Eagles has up to this day been in a position of friendship with my client, tag team wrestling with him, owning his contract. But now Josh Eagles like all before, ya now entering the battlefield of the legion soldier, a place in which my client will show no remorse nor forgiveness. For as ya enter the ring with the legion soldier all past ties between yourself and my client will be thrown away, only resulting pain and loss will you achieve at Big Bang.
The manager Riley takes a step back as his client takes his position before the microphone.
Macros: I am traveling down the highway to my destiny of promotional domination. Josh Eagles resembles little but a test of my courage and determination. Josh Eagles does not even resemble a bump in the highway towards my destiny. Josh Eagles is little but a loose pebble under my footing that is just waiting to be driven into the ground. Alas for you Josh, your time of greatness has come to an end. For now you are witnessing the rise of the Legion Soldier. You may be able to hold onto your current Heavyweight Championship from another promotion close to your chest, but there is nothing in POW New England for the Josh Eagles that chooses to work against the destiny that I strive for.
Come the point in time when you decide to step through the boundaries and into my battlefield at Big Bang, I shall do something in which no man has yet proved can be done. To release myself from those whom doubt my abilities I, Appius Macros Vitruvious, shall use Josh Eagles as a warning to all those to come as I dominate him in the ring.
At Big Bang the Legion Soldier will be the man to grasp both the victory and the honor that he craves.
With a look mixing both anger and concentration into one Macros raises his legendary black glove covered right hand into the air, with one quick motion he pushes it into the lens of the camera. With the quickening darkness of Macros’ glove covering the lens and the sound of glass cracking the scene cuts off abruptly ending the interview.
