The scene opens up with David Hilt backstage, getting into ring-gear, and warming up for his debut. He turns to face the camera, to deliver the last words that will be heard by him in POW Midwest
Hilt: Now, I'm sure you see me right now, and you wonder, why am I not being laid back, or humorous. Confident in my inevitable win tonight. Just my usual self, right? Well, your usual personality goes out the window right before you step in that ring. I've said it many times before, when it comes to the match inside that ring, it's all focus on winning. Nothing funny about it, not to be laid back about.
Don't get me wrong, I still do know I will win. Nevertheless, this is my debut match, and your nerves are expected to f*ck with you. I can't just sit here doing nothing, just waiting to go out there and pick up that three count. No, I work for my win, when I say I know I will win, it's because I know I bust my ass for it.
Remember what I said about first impressions? Yeah, be ready to think of me as a winner, the guy with unmeasurable potential. I don't feel I have to prove myself to anyone, but I do feel if I want to ever be recognized as one of the best, I will do so. Not only tonight, but as soon as I get to the New England territory.
And trust me, it won't take long before it happens. Before you people see me as on of the best in this business. Before I hold a title, and before I change people's minds about underestimating me.
I respect all my opponents, and I find it a shame that once I go to POW NE, I won't get to face them again, at least not for a while. Who knows if they might decide to work both, or switch. But right now, I am at Midwest, and even though I don't feel tonight will have much impact on my career, It's only a matter of time before I prove that I could make it here as well, not just in New England where a lot of the workers won't exactly be vet talents. Rest assured, you will not be thinking of me as the new guy who ran away and took the easy route.
He turns away from the camera, obviously not going to say any more, and goes back to getting ready for his match. The camera eventually cuts away.
