POW Wrestling News
Power On Wrestling has been on the recruiting march again by signing two more wrestlers to the POW roster. Blake Phillips and Jaxon the Saxon have come to terms with POW contracts, and both are ready to start when the promotion hosts it first "The Road to Rebirth" in the very near future.
Blake Phillips is 6'2 and weighs just over 230 pounds. He's an all-rounder that hails from Los Angeles. Phillips is a no-nonsense customer that uses the Work of Art (package piledriver) as a finisher. "He has that 'it' factor," notes POW owner, Tito Capaci. "He's one of those guys that you know will drop you where you stand if you press him and continue his day with no remorse....I love that."
Also making it official is Jaxon the Saxon. Jaxon is a German juggernaut that piles in at nearly 300 pounds on a 6'5" frame. Not surprisingly, he is considered a power wrestler using his Woden Driver (Sitdown Cradled Tombstone Piledriver) as a finisher. Tito Capaci was very happy to sign him. "Anybody who wears a suit of medieval armor to a contract signing and and snarls has to be good for ratings. And as of right now, he's the biggest, strongest competitor we have, so he's going to be a player when it comes down to determining championships."
And to put one in the rumor column, Former SWS North American Champion Elisse Gairden was rumored to be seen in the Casino earlier this week and also spotted having lunch with Josh Eagles. No word yet to if Gairden plans on returning to the ring. Elisse Gairden, the 19 year old Ireland native, had an impressive 7-3 record in the SWS before it closed and also captured the SWS North American Championship on their last event.
POW Business News
Tito Capaci has secured time slots with a number of FOX affiliates in the POW target area to air the weekly "Road To" shows on tape delay. Markets that will be covered include Kansas City, Jefferson City, St. Louis, Lincoln, Topeka, and Des Moines. Most affiliates will air the weekly program at midnight the morning following the show with Topeka electing to air the "Road To" shows at 1am.
There is a buzz going around the POW offices. Josh Eagles and Tito Capaci had a meeting with both of their legal teams to discuss the issues of the ownership of the POW/SWS titles. It can be confirmed that Capaci has secured the rights to the belts, their histories, and the names of the titles. There seems to be more to this story, however. Josh Eagles was seen leaving the meeting in an exuberant manner following the meeting while Capaci was visibly angry. One can only assume that Eagles walked away from the meeting with something more precious than money.
In light of this information, no time was wasted in putting the SPEAR Wrestling Syndicate history on the Power On Wrestling website. To view the SWS history, you can go to hardonwrestling.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=history to view the title and show history of SWS.
